The generator has a nice remote feature. It was simple to start. Make sure you add the included oil before starting the generator.

Choosing the Westinghouse iGen 4500 was easy based on company reputation. This is a fantastic generator and it's extremely quiet.

Power when you need it

Everything I wanted and small enough to move around as we travel.  Only initial setup, run, and test of power tools but so far so good.

Arrived in great shape and seems to run perfect so far. Hoping for many years with this unit. Super quiet and plenty of power.

Rv generator

Perfect balance of power and price!  It has features you don't even know you want until you use them.  Thrilled with my purchase.

Fully loaded!

Took three times to get a working one but worth it. It is the highest wattage generator for its size. I use it on a 35ft 5th wheel

Will run 15kv air in my 5th wheel will power to spare

Purchased this because of the reviews and a friend of mine who already purchased the same generator loves it.

Great features

I bought this unit a few months ago, did a proper break in, and had it charging ready for when it was needed. When it was needed it would not stay running, it would rev up and quit. I submitted warranty claim and it has been sitting in a shop for 3 weeks. I needed it for camp in 2 weeks, now I am looking to either buy another inverter or cancel a family trip. Not a great start.

Disappointed

I purchased the iGen 4500 for camping and the ocassional home power outage. I'm impressed with how quiet it runs compared to my old generator and the retractable handle, which helps to move it around.

Depending on where you live or camp, you'll need to contact Westinghouse to purchase the high altitude kit. If you live or camp at an elevation of 2000 ft and lower, you don't need to swap out the jet. But at any elevation higher than 2000 ft, you will need the high altitude kit for proper fuel-air mixture. 

Westing house responded to my email in just hours, and I was able to order and receive the kit within a few days. Westinghouse has a simple tutorial video on their sight with step-by-step instructions on how to swap out the carburetor jet that corresponds to your altitude. My auto mechanic told me he swaps them out frequently for many different brands, but it's not difficult to do it yourself to save money. He was right, I watched the video and swapped it out myself. 

A quick note if you swap jet out yourself, I placed the hardware in plastic sandwich bags then labeld each step. It made it easier when reassembling.

I've been pleased with my purchase. It's a nice little generator.
