Bought this outdoor storage deck box to store all my pool equipment and kiddy pool toys. I thought it was very attractive and just what I needed. With a year or so after my purchase the hinges all rusted along with and cover supports which all rusted and stained my pavers and is a real eye sore. If you plan on using it in Southwest Florida think twice as I am in the process of throwing mine into the garbage.

I read directions and watched video on assembly. Was extra careful and got it assembled. Did not go together as easy as shown in video, but with help from my wife we managed. I like that it is very solid an well constructed. Seemed very big, but I filled it and got all the bbq stuff off the patio.

I bought 2 boxes 14 years ago for my home and another for my second home. Assembly was a breeze. Just be sensible and after reading a step, look at it and see if it made sense. A common mistake is misinterpretation. Happens to us all. I was visiting the site a few days ago reading reviews, as I like doing this. I noticed a customer or 2 speaking of the hinges rusting. I thought I should take a look. Yep. Mine were rusting too on the 2 boxes at home. It was more than the hinges. Metal strips, hinges and pistons. I called Customer Service and Justin was eager to send the parts to me at no extra charge. He sent the assembly book (by e-mail) and asked me to pick out the part numbers and how many so that everything would go like clock work. This happened with ease and I can't say enough for Justin. Good man and I love the box still. Now I will make sure the metal parts are protected from the salty air of SW Florida. Thanks

Bottom Line:Yes, I would recommend this to a friend. Like the other reviews say, it's designed well. However, after sitting on my knees on top of it there are two indentations. It doesn't impair the use, but it was disappointing. You can see the interior structure trying to poke through the surface on the lid.

I just picked up two of these storage boxes yesterday and put them together today, ( 1-05-2020). I was going to get the instruction manual and review it at work but the only box I opened did not have one. No problem, easy enough to print off from the Lifetime website. It was actually easy to put together, it was recommended to use two people but my wife was at work and I did it myself. The first one took about an hour as I went slow and kept refering to the pictures. The manual was right on target so don't skip over any pages as tempting as it will be, and your box will come out perfect. I put our chair cushions in one box, it held six chair cushions and a three person swing cushions. Still some room left. Anyway, very happy with this product so far and looking forward to many years service.

This is a great storage solution for our pool deck. It stays dry inside and holds all our kids pool tools and etc plus it looks nice. We bought one last year and then another this year for our patio. No sun/uv fading of color, our old one looks just like the new one.

I LOVE this huge container, I can get so many large patio things stashed in there for winter. I was calling to get a new hinge and shock for one side. Altho I didn't have my receipt and purchase date anymore, the customer service gentleman is sending me the parts free of charge!! yaaay! Thank you so much!! I am a customer forever!

I waited to write a review until I purchased my second 130 Gallon Storage Box. The reason I waited was to see if I had the same issues with the second as I did with the first. Being molded plastic I knew there were going to be some imperfections. The problem I had with the first both is on both sides the holes did not line up to be able to put in both supporting bolts. IMG-1.Not a big issue but I have to make sure to press down on the lid to completely seal it. The second one I had to file away one edge of the back wall tab that is need to lock the walls into the floor. It was deformed when it came off the press. I don't consider this a big deal but probably should not have passed QA. Two things I did not see during any of the reviews was mention that 1. It makes assembly much easier using an Impact Drill rather than a power drill. Again not a big deal but does cut down on time when inserting the screws and some of the bolts. It does mention this in the online assembly video. 2. Two people are recommended for assembly. This is shown in the instructions and also in the online video. I did not find this a necessity but it keeps from having to jury rig something to hold the lid open. I just used a piece of 2x2 to keep the lid open. This This is the only reason I am giving it a 4 otherwise it would be a 5. I am extremely happy I made this decision and are well worth the price and much cheaper than other name brands for what I feel is the same quality as say Rubbermaid. I do plan on buying another to hold some of my lawn equipment.

I have purchased 3 of the Heavy-Duty Outdoor Storage Deck Box (130 Gallon). One of the boxes I use for the storage of pool chemicals. Because of the nature of these chemicals, the hinges inside the box started to rust and eventually break. This is not a manufacturing defect and was caused by me because I needed a place to store chemicals. John was kind enough to send me replacement hinges so that I could continue to use the box. I was willing to pay for the new hinges; but he went the extra mile to sending them at NO charge. Lifetime really stands behind their products. They have a customer for life!

I didn't want to buy a toy chest only to get rid of it in a couple of years.....wanted to buy something that would store toys now but have other uses later. This certainly fits the bill. As a toy chest it is GREAT! so roomy......so sturdy.....and safe. Even the bulky toys fit in fine. The floor is sturdy enough for the kids to get in the box too. It's built well and I know we will use this bin our whole lives with multiple uses over the years.
