Substantial material, so sturdy. Quality control could be improved. The panels fit into slots, but the slots are not always cut out properly, so you may have to cut a lot of the slots yourself, which is not that easy, and may throw off the alignment a bit.

I was looking for a storage box that could hold six, 4" thick chair cushions and still close without having to sit on the lid. That's exactly what I got with this purchase! It was so easy to put together. It looks nice, not cheap. It definitely cost more than the others' I was looking at but, the money spent was well worth it. With the hydraulics under the lid, one person can take things out or put them away without fear of the lid coming down on their head. It's sturdy too. I'm not worried about anything happening when someone who's larger sits on it. I can't say enough good about it.

This deck box is nice but putting it together should have been much easier. The first problem was step one—the notches you use to lock it in needs some further design tweaks. We finally got it together by using a can of kitchen spray oil. The other issue is there are three different size bolts/screws, a smarter designer would have tried to create a piece that one size wrench would work for the whole build. Now that it is done I am happy with the deck box.

These are the best made of all the outdoor storage boxes. However, you cannot store pool chemicals inside them. The hardware will corrode and rust. What is more surprising, is that no where, adds or warranty, is there mention of this. The good news is that if it happens within the 10 year warranty, you can get replacement hardware. And store you chemicals somewhere else.

The dock box is great. Big and heavy duty. The assembly instructions, however are not very good. My wife gives them a C-, I'd go with a C. Also, the video that you can access that supposedly tells you how to assemble the box is terrible. It seems like every time the video gets to a critical point of the assembly, the camera pans away and robs you of the detailed view that you need. It ended up taking much longer to assemble than it should have. Heck, it's 6 resin panels that all just snap together and it took us a good hour to do it!

The plastic “male” pieces on the bottom of the back panel and front panel are too large and don’t slide. For as much as I paid for this thing, you would think the basics would be taken care of. Don’t waste your money on a company that charges the customer for a return plus a stocking fee. I’ve learned my lesson.

We love this deck box. Per all the other reviews-heavy duty, well-constructed and nice looking. The only disappointing thing was the assembly instructions. They were very difficult to follow. Not well written causing assembly to take a lot longer than it should have. Aside from that, very happy to have this in our back patio area. Well worth the price.

I've had this product for about 6 or 7 years now and it has held up great! Half of it's life has been spent sitting on an asphalt driveway (read: added heat!) and the other half of it's life has been in my backyard on grass (cooler, but southern facing, so lots of sun exposure). While time consuming to put together, it has held up extremely well and looks just about as good as the day it was new. I have a second deck box/bench made by a competitor and the plastic on that one has cracked and panels have warped to the point that it's almost not worth using anymore. I would definitely buy again, in fact, I'm looking to add a second one to my add to my pool area for various pool supplies.

We own 2 of these boxes and I just ordered our 3rd. They are perfect for storing tools and gear for our pool, as well as misc. outdoor equipment. Our existing units have stood up extremely well to the harsh Texas summers. Access in and out is easy and the neutral color allows the boxes to blend-in to our yard without looking like eye sores.

I have bought nine of these extra large boxes and used them to ship stuff overseas. Only had problem with one with the side bottom tabs which didn't properly slide into the bottom piece causing it to pop out, however, by large these boxes are very sturdy and stand up to the rigours of sea shipping.
