New Backup Generator
4 out of 5 stars review

New Generator

I picked this up as a back up to the Generac I am having installed. This generator is really solid (and heavy). So far things look to be good to go. Simple setup and instructions have been easy to follow. I picked this one due to its tri-feul capability. I'll be testing out things more indepth this weekend to verify how well it operates. I have a couple 20 lb propane tanks and will add a couple more (hurricane season is here). I'll try the gas option this weekend also. I hope to test the natural gas sooner rather than later. Overall this generator looks to be what is needed for as a decent backup. If things work out well, I will most likely pickup a second.

Hands down the best I've owned

Over the years I've owned several different brands of portable generators, but none compare to this Westinghouse WGen 9500. Value for the money is outstanding, and its performance is excellent. The way the unit was boxed and ease of set up made it very user friendly, which is rare today. Very satisfied overall and would not hesitate to buy another one.

Best generator in it's price range

I haven't used it beyond filling it with oil and letting it run for an hour to test, but it's a solidly built generator. Assembly out of the box was simple, just 4 bolts and 2 axle pins. I bought it because of Westinghouse's long history with electrical manufacturing, and hopefully their good reputation rings true.

WGWN9500c

Product arrived and was packaged well for transport. Like supporting doucumentation that came with product. 50 amp power plug is in a bad spot. Difficult to connect power cord. Power cord rubs on tire. Had to take tire off in order to connect. looking forward to using product .

Super Solid construction

I recently purchased the WGen9500c. Very happy with the sturdiness/construction of the unit. I was afraid that a portable unit would not be able to stand up to wear/tear. No worries as this unit weighs 200 pounds and should be able to withstand anything type of transport, weather, etc.

Easy to use!

This thing is fantastic! With the help of friend, it took about 15 minutes to assemble. The instructions are easy to follow. It started like a champ. The best thing about this generator is that I don't have to put any effort starting it up. I can push the button on the generator or use the remote, which will come in handy during the winter months. I'm glad that I made this purchase because we get frequent power outages.

Easy to put together

I just purchased this generator after Hurricane Beryl to prepare for the next power outage. Haven't had a chance to use it but I did put it together and it was easy enough and much easier to move around once the wheels are in place. The item is very heavy/sturdy.

Nice looking generator

Looks like a very nice generator. Haven't used yet but everything looks easy to use. We bought this because it has a remote start and a push button start so I can start it if my husband is at work and I need it like last year. Has place for different stuff to be plugged in and charged at the same time.

Great alternative to a whole house backup

Purchased the TRI Fuel WGen9500TFC for an emergency. Living in Buffalo you never know how much snow you will get. You can be buried in snow for days at a time and if you lose power, you might be in trouble. This generator will solve all the issues back feeding the panel with an interlock kit. With the tri fuel running on natural gas, you will never have to worry. Fractions of the cost compared to installing a whole house stand by.

Remote start

Just received my wgen9500. Starts right up , has so many features for the price. Has visual gas gauge on top. Remote start, usb not sure if I would use that. But I could see my children being plugged in. Has a main breaker. My only issue is for the wheels it should be on one rod. It's split. If that is my only problem with it I'll take it.
