We purchased this generator almost a month ago and couldn't be happier with our decision. Living in Eastern NC, we experience hurricanes yearly, and we get the occasional winter snowstorm. We live out in the country and anytime any such storm is forecasted, its practically a guarantee we will lose power. In the past, these power losses have been anywhere from a few hours to several days. I have a 26-year-old special needs daughter who spends the majority of her life on the internet. Of course, no power...no internet, It doesn't take long before everyone is in a fowl mood. Also, if the outage extends more than a few days we lose 2 chect-type freezers full of food and everything in the refrigerator. Added to all of this, I, myself was put on oxygen by my doctors in July. Its something I will have to deal with for the rest of my life. As you can read, taking all of these circumstances into account made selecting a generator a very important decision. We did our homework and researched several different models and brands. After much deliberation, we decided on the Westinghouse WGen 9500. It met all of our needs and then some, It's big enough for the square footage of our house, and having the option of using the remote is truly a blessing, I don't want to have to go out in a storm at my age to pull start it, at 70 years old, it's not safe. We haven't had it a month yet but have already put it to the test. We took almost a direct hit from tropical storm Ophelia last weekend. We lost power before the storm even made landfall. Within minutes we were back up and running. Nobody got fussy without the internet, we had no loss of food and I was able to continue on my oxygen. This generator is definitely a lifesaver. We do have plans to have it hard wired to the house when finances permit but even using it with cords, we couldn't be happier. I would like to receive the cover to protect it. I bought the WGen9500 generator to replace a 22-year old generator that I had. Installing the wheels, putting oil and gas and starting the generator took less than 45 minutes. I am so glad that I bought this generator because of the power- 9500 watts and great features, like the electric start and remote start. It can power most all the essential appliances in my house during a power outage.

I just received the 9500. It was incredibly easy to set up, right out of the box. I added the supplied oil and fuel and it started right up on the first pull. I then tried the electric start and the remote start fob and for each of them the start was effortless and immediate.I can't wait for our next power failure to be able to put this generator to full use.

Does exactly as advertised. Comes with all the parts needed for each fuel source -- natural gas hose, propane hose, and oil/funnel. All that's needed is a fuel source, and this thing is ready out the box. Installation of the wheels and supports were also very simple.

We bought a MEP 003a diesel generator. The problem was that it required a bunch of steps to get it started. My wife and I are getting old and she needed something easier to start. So we decided to replace it. With this Westinghouse WGen9500c, you turn on the switch and either press the on switch or the keyfob button and the unit starts itself. We live in a 16 x 80 mhp that has a 2 ton air unit. This generator powered the ac and our full size fridge with no problem. FYI, it was Mr. Westinghouse that came up with the idea to use AC to provide electricity to the United States. If you have ever been in a power outage you know that you need something that is dependable to get you through until the power is restored. We chose this generator and a manual transfer switch.

This generator is well made and has some really nice features. Electric start, wheel kit, voltage/frequency/hour meter. It even comes with a trickle charger to keep the battery charged. The owners manual is very detailed and the maintenance section is informative. The gas tank is steel, not plastic. I was impressed with the build quality.

I bought this generator a week ago and exceeded my expectations. It took about 10 minutes to get set up. I hit the start button and the generator started right away. I tested the power of the generator with lights, air compressor, table saws, etc and did not miss a beat. The remote start and transfer switch ready are very nice features. I would by it again if I needed another generator.

We bought this generator after many months of looking for one that filled our needs for electrical service during power failures. I love the electrical remote start as I can stand at my circuit panel in the basement and start the generator before making the switch to backup power. The price fit our budget. And the unit powers all the equipment in our house we need to keep my wife save during power outages.

The price of this generator and the wattage were the two main reasons for purchase as well as the Westinghouse name. There are a number of great features for an elderly man. Remote start. After the deep freeze in Texas in February we wanted to be prepared should we have long power outages again. Handy to have wheels and handle. Easy assembly. Battery charger is a plus.
