WGEN 9500 Tfc

Out of the box the generator ran on gas and propane. It will not run on natural gas and it appears to be a supply side issue. The current meter supports 250 cubic feet per hour and 5 psi. Our energy company is going to change this to 400 cubic feet per hour. If I can get back in, I'll update this posting.

recommend to just about anyone

over all quite a unit - been like 15-20 years since last purchased a generator. quite a few improvements - bought the wgen9500dfc and it handles pretty much everything i used on it - except a/c - just havent needed a/c since i bought it. electric start is quite a luxury and it worked flawlessly in 10 below weather! Even though this generator is twice the capacity of my old one - its quieter. really like the option of dual fuel, and can hook it up to just about any electric configuration someone has. it was 99% assembled - only had to put on the wheels - really cant say enough about it. never thought i would say this but really, really like the plastic wheels. pneumatic wheels sound great but reality is a different story - over time they always loose air, even if its stored off the ground, and if you have the generator over time the tires end up with dry rot. this generator isnt any harder to push/pull than my other generator with pneumatic tires(had to go thru snow and uneven frozen ground). there are some minor issues which I havent liked. the on off switch has a plastic cover over it - i find it alot more difficult to flip the switch on and off because of the plastic cover. when turning the unit on there is an yellow light that comes on - a yellow light on all my other tools means - caution - something isnt right or ready - why not a green light. my generator is usually stored in a shed with no power to charge the battery - is it a 12 volt - can it be charged from a car - from a battery power pack - no mention in the manual about anything. the manuals - its kinda lacking at times. mine states thats there is a ECO mode switch - but there isnt one(manual is specific to my model only) and lastly my pet peeve - there isnt any dedicated way to drain the gas from the gas tank. i may loose power 10-12 times a year or a may not need my generator for 1.5-2 years. so i have to always drain out the gas and its a pain the way it is set up. lastly things just arent explained well in the manual - like this has a circuit breaker on it - but never explains what its for or when to use it - my last generator didnt have one - do i use it for everything? my generator is wired directly into my electric box – which has all circuit breakers so why do i need it - do i only use it for 120v electric cords? then we have the bonded neutral - which they tell you absolutely nothing about other than contact your electrician - i contacted 2 - the one that worked on my electrical connections and i contacted another - and neither knew anything about it. most of these are just part of a quick learning process - but could be better explained and in no way should it keep you from purchasing the unit. also i bought this because of the lower harmonic distortion that this generator has over other generators. over all this generator is a beast and am looking forward to many years of use

Rocky Mountain Powerful!

I purchased the WGEN9500 gas only genny as the only power source for building an off-grid home in the Rockies. This portable little beast never fell short through all seasons. In the winter we also had a 40 ft RV hooked up. We never had a power shortage as long as we kept it fueled. I highly recommend this genny for heavy duty and continuous use year round.

Can't complain so far

Only 1 month of service so far, so I can't vouch for longevity or dependability but it seems like an all around good product. Shipped to the house, it was well packed and undamaged upon arrival. It has good features and hopefully it will serve my family for many years.

Ideal for Smaller Home

This generator was easy to assemble and the instructions were well documented. The generator started right up on the first try. I plan on installing a transfer switch to allow for easy connection to the house. I will definitely recommend this generator to my family and friends.

Great looking generator

I bought this generator for up at the lake. We own a mobile home that plugs into the power grid using a 50 amp plug. So when we lose power we can just pull the plug from the local power and plug it into the generator. I plan to buy a larger unit for home use.

Running Great

I have two of these and they run great, only issue I've foreseen is finding replacement spark plugs - the listed models that Westinghouse has on the manual are hard to find or are discontinued (and the manual specifically says to avoid plugs with resistance - which are all you can find) otherwise strong machine

Well Built

Purchase this generator about 15 days ago and I'm very very happy with the way it was packaged. All of the information regarding operation and set up were spot on. The generator started on the first try for the electric start and runs very well. I would highly recommend the purchase of this generator for the quality and cost.

Runs Strong, Great Manual

In an unexpected power outage, we were able to purchase the Westinghouse 9500c generator. It ran strong for 8 days and powered everything we needed in the house. We were careful not to run too much electric at once, but we were impressed none-the-less. It really saved us, as the temperatures were quite cold. Also impressive is the manual! It provides very specific details in a very easy to read and understand format. The instructions made setup, use, and an oil change a breeze!! The unexpected bonus for us was the remote start/stop fob. We didn't realize how nice this made things; saving us from going out into the cold to push a button. Our only complaint is the noise. It is loud, and 8 days of it was uncomfortable. However, I don't believe it is any louder than the average generator. And we expected the noise as part of the deal. Obviously, the benefits outweighed this one negative.

It worked great, especially in the condition it's

I bought the generator and hadn't taken it out of the box yet. A tornado hit the farm and flattened the shop, after digging it of the rubble I added oil and gas. It fired right up, it's smashed up pretty bad but it ran my house non stop for a week until they got the power back on. Not sure how it's going to hold up to the damage it took but so far so good. Play
