New Generator

Note I have not yet experienced a situation where I would be in need of this device, However, upon unpackaging and firing it up, I am very satisfied and impressed with the product's design and functionality. Along those lines, I anticipate it to prove invaluable in my next outage.

Seems well built with lots of potential

I shopped and compared dozens of brands and models before deciding on the WGen9500. My Dad has had the WGen7500 for a couple years with no isaues, so I had some confidence in the Westinghouse brand even though the generator itself is made overseas (Vietnam). My purchase was to upgrade from a circa 2005 Coleman Powermate 5500 that served me well they many power outages. I was shocked that this 9500 watt generator was not much larger than the old Yamaha MZ300 powered 5500 and is actually noticeably QUIETER! Will be running it thru its paces soon after I complete a thorough and gentle break-in. My primary concern would be the THD rating -- Specs indicate up to 23% THD which would be disasterious to sensitive electronics and also would be rejected by battery backups/UPSs which I use many of. Anxious to see the actual noise level in the power output.

Great Generator

Perfect to run my whole house in times without power. I know my family will have heating/cooling and running water with plenty of extra power to keep the refrigerator and freezer on. Wonderful peace of mind to have for emergencies. Break it in properly and it should last years

Easy to assemble

First the good. Super easy to assemble. Comes complete to run on three types of fuel. Good assortment of plugs. Now the bad. This thing is heavy. It is on wheels, so that is nice. But if you plan to roll it on anything other than concrete, phone a friend.

Great and powerful generator

I recently bought this generator and I was very impressed with the setup and ease of use. This is a powerful and really nice generator that will cover most power needs. I am planning on running it off of natural gas but am very happy to have the option to use gas as well as propane. I am also really happy it has a 50A plug that I plan to attach to my house circuit panel.

Sturdy generator with remote start

This generator is well packaged and everything as ease to assemble as the manual. It is a a tri-fuel options with easy to push button start instead of the old option to crane it. It is a plus that it have a remote start as well very convenient. Work great to power my whole house. We are ready for the next storm might cause us to be out of power again.

Good features, easy to use

I bought this a few weeks ago and am still going through the break in process (no power outages yet!). It was easy to assemble (wheels and legs) and get started. While breaking it in I have powered some appliances and small power tools with no issues. Our plan is to connect it to our gas supply and install a transfer switch. I am almost looking forward to a power outage. The electric start makes it easy to start for two senior citizens. I would recommend it heartily to anyone.

Wgen9500TFc review

Ordered generator on Saturday and received Tuesday in good condition. Read the excellent manual and quick setup guide. Put in oil and gas then charged battery a bit. Turned on gas valve and start switch. Pressed starter button and started generator. Light was flashing on start button then I pressed start button on fop and switch light turned green to reflect pairing. I ran the generator for 5 minutes and checked output. This is a great generator. I didn't have to mess with the choke to start it using the fop or start button. Later I plan to connect to natural gas for fuel. Also it fits in the cabinet I purchased for my 4.4kw generator. A bonus there because it connects to my transfer switch, grounding, and solar panel for battery charging. I may add to review after testing natural gas connection but overall I am pleased with this generator. Ed

Update to previous review

This is an update to a previous review. I initially had difficulty with the first startup of the generator. Westinghouse support helped me to resolve my issue. I am now completely satisfied, in fact delighted, with the my generator. I am an older person and would have difficulty with traditional pull start motors. The electric start is a blessing. Runs great.
