Great Deal!

I bought this on Friday and received today (Sunday). This thing feels well built. The starting instructions were quick and concise. The exact amount of oil was provided so I didn't have to guesstimate how much to put in. A fill funnel was provided with tools. More than enough features from charging a smartphone on a USB to running a whole house. The push start is very pleasant and a quick push of the button makes it auto start so you don't have to keep pressing. You won't be disappointed with this thing. It's like a tank. And then there is the key fob which works awesome. It kind of felt like a bonus to have a push start and key fob for this price. I would highly recommend this product. I wanted a DUROMAX but they were almost 50% more with the same features. I have no regrets.

Great features and quick start up.

I have only just purchased the Westinghouse WGen9500 generator. The install of the legs and wheels were simple and initial start up right out of the box was quick and easy. There was enough charge in the battery to actual start the unit with the push button. The test run was smooth and not as loud as some other generators that I have been around. I have an electrician coming to my home tomorrow to install a transfer switch. My home is 100% electric; heat and well water and we tend to have power outages often. Wind and rain take down tree branches and leave us not only in the dark but no heat or AC and without water. I will no longer have to stress the loss of my food in our freezer or be inconvenienced without water, heat or cooling. Thank you Westinghouse.

Great features!

I bought this after hurricane Laura and Delta. It stayed in the box until the ice storm of 2021. loved the feature of just pushing a button to crank it. It chokes it and everything with one push of the button. Hurricane season will be back soon. Hope we don't need it but will be happy we have it

START UP problems on gasoline!!

I just recieved our new WGEN9500DFc. I did everything according to the instructs for set up. I put gas in and tried to crank it. Motor turned over but would not crank. I connected propane and it cranked right up. I had my 30yr handy man with me. We checked all procedures. Unit seemed fine on propane. NOTHING on gas. I called the customer service number. They said it could take a while for a tech response. Like how long? 21 DAYS , WHAT ???!!!! I think I like the unit, but I got dual fuel because that's what I wanted. I expect it to work and not have to wait 21 DAYS!!! I hope they call me soon. I will rate it at another time.

Great features, tons to work with

I just bought this a week ago. Haven't fully used it but so far, so good. Started right up. Read the instructions, familiarize yourself with the manual. Lots of important information. Didn't even know it came with a remote starter. I can't wait to try this out fully in my house.

Excellent until the key fob stopped working

The generator worked fine for a day or two then the panel light started to go off working intermittently.. after the third week the panel light stopped working completely and would not start even by manually pulling …I know electronics can be finicky and one bad part can ruin the whole pot of soup… but we are off grid and rely heavily upon the generator when the sun is scarce…

Frequency is high and does not idle up

Initial fire up of generator, frequency is 62.9. I called support and they requested I put a load on it. With 2 heat elements at maybe 2.5amps, it dropped to 61.7 Hz. I was told this was all good and normal. Fast forward to today, with my first trial run after all electrical was finished to feed my home. I started with my garage which has a 240v pool pump and air compressor. The pool pump and all 120 devices ran just fine. When the air compressor came on, lights began flickering badly and the generator shut off. This was done again when I had someone able to turn the air compressor on while I was at the generator to observe the operations. I observed the frequency was dropping to 55-56 Hz and voltage was also dropping. This is happening due to the idle circuitry of the generator failing is my thought. I called support and was advised to contact my seller to return the unit for being defective. If I'm not able to return it, I can take it somewhere of pay to have someone come to my home. This is very poor support for a brand new product.

Great Generator

Great generator, bought about a month ago. Easy setup, generator has electric start and key fob. Its easy for my wife to start and operate. The generator powers our whole hose with well, electric hot water heater, pellet stove, furnace and more. Would recommend

Junk

Both my neighbor and I bought one and they both burned up. One had 126 hours and the other 170. Both have either warped heads or bent valves. This is complete crap!!! Will never buy Westinghouse “anything” again. One we converted to natural gas the other was running on straight gas.

New Generator

Upon receipt I tried to get the generator running. The battery doesn't charge, so the electric start and the remote start do not work. I tried to get assistance but have not heard back from Westinghouse. I can manually start the unit, and it runs well. It is relatively quiet and can be moved pretty easily, with the fold up handle extension. I haven't needed it yet, but I believe it will do what I need. Now, if I could only get some customer support!
