Being gluten free is a huge plus. I also appreciate that these are sweet, but not super sweet. Sometimes protein bars add tons of protein and sugar to mask weird tastes. These are not like that.

These Pure Protein Bars taste really good and they have a pleasant texture. Tastes good and good for you is a great combination!! And they are gluten free!! I like that the box includes a variety of flavors so I don't get bored with just one flavor. And all the flavors are so tasty!! All the bars contain 19-21 grams of protein, and only 2-3 grams of sugar. The flavor makes you think it has more sugar, they really taste like a sweet treat. I am quite pleased with this product. I enjoy working out daily and I also enjoy eating anything healthy that tastes good. I took a moment to devour one Chocolate deluxe bar Each of them were quite delicious m, but I've always preferred anything I can get my hands in all chocolate., Which here would be the chocolate deluxe. What was unexpected was that this particular bar has hints of caramel.. to me anyway. It reminded me of eating a small chocolate from one of those Valentine's Day chocolate boxes. Aside from the delicious taste, when you turn the wrapper over, you are able to understand what these little bars are made of. Fat content isn't terrible, sugar and carbs are quite low and protein is off the chart with 20grams (which is good). Now, focusing on carbs and sugar content we notice the bar has little sugar used with more so sugar alcohols making up most of the carbs. For me, sugar alcohols give me Terrible stomach aches. Like crippling, bent over, wishing I had never eaten whatever it was this made me this way. In finally understanding it was the sugar alcohols that gave me terrible stomach pain, I now avoid anything that has a large sugar alcohol content. While the taste is really Delicious, knowing that these bars contain surge alcohols is the reason why I would never recommend these to anyone. If one knows they don't react to sugar alcohols, then by all means, get them, they are good. But if you are like me and think sugar alcohols are the devil.... this will be a hard pass.

The chocolate peanut caramel was great when I was craving something sweet. I don't usually like protein bars because they taste gritty and dense. This was super smooth and not heavy. I will definitely try the other flavors now.

I have been eating Pure Protein bars for several years. Chocolate Deluxe is my favorite and I used to solely buy those. Over the past 1-2 years I have been buying the variety pack (23 total with 3 flavors) at Sam's Club. I have noticed that on each purchase one of the 3 flavors will have something a little different (harder than usual or taste a little off). On September 28 I picked up two boxes of these bars. I started with a Chocolate Deluxe and it was delicious. However, the next day I opened a Chocolate Peanut Butter and upon opening I could already smell a rather unpleasant smell. I took a bite and it tasted terrible; something like rotten fish. I spit it out. Opened another, only to have the same result. I tried the Chocolate Peanut Caramel and it was inedible as well. I'm assuming something was wrong with the "Peanut" mix. I do see that there are several other people who have complained about getting a terrible tasting bar and terrible smell in these reviews, so I think there is some problem with the quality control. When the bars taste like they should, they are fabulous (5 stars!); but when you get a bad batch they are inedible! (Sam's Club refunded my money with no issues -- Five stars for Sam's customer service!)

The flavors are incredible and don't have that typical "protein" taste! Also, can't beat $1 per bar! Especially with protein being so expensive nowadays. Would definitely purchase again!
