Runs for 90 seconds and then fans for 5 minutes- doesn't run long enough to cool. Customer support from midea was useless and said this was normal..... normal for an air conditioner to not cool??? WHAT!?!

I bought this one week ago. It worked well until yesterday when it stopped cooling at all. I turned the unit off, waited a minute and turned it on again. It began to cool almost immediately. Every new electronic device I purchase I test for EMF emissions, and the Midea Duo 10,000 BTU failed miserably. It gives off what I consider to be dangerous EMF levels, especially for a unit that is suppose to only cool 450 square feet or roughly 20' x 22.5". That's a fairly small space for the levels of EMF I found. I even installed an external EMF shield and the levels I still considered to be too high because in the area I want to cool also has other electronics that also put off enough EMF that when they are all combined its far too much to spend much time in, much less for hours at a time during the day and maybe 8 hours at night. Without the shielding the EMF levels are ridiculous. I can't believe United Laboratories certified this unit for use by the general public. And the only ostensible purpose of the EMF emissions I can think of is probably the blue tooth to communicate with the remote control, which I will never use anyway. So, for that feature alone the value of this rather good A/C unit causes it to be worthless. I even consider it to be dangerous, likely harmful to my personal health in the long-term. I don't believe human beings were not made to live in the EMFs we find everywhere these days, especially in almost all electronics we buy in stores. I'd love to keep this unit but I'm not going submit myself to these levels of EMF for hours upon hours every day. That's nuts. Who could care less about a remote control for a unit that only cools 450 sq ft? That makes no sense at all.

I used two stars because of the horrible customer service I received. The unit is not even installed yet. I called to ask about all the foam lining for the window insert. Mine is twisted, scrunched, compressed, and looks to be unusable. I have waited for days to see if it would spring back, but it hasn't. The customer service person was unresponsive and borderline rude. There was always a long pause before her answer, during which I suspect she was searching for a macro to parrot back to me. None of her answers were real responses to my questions. Finally, she just told me I was free to purchase any part I wasn't happy with. I could go on, but won't. Not a happy customer.

Best portable AC very good and quiet

I turned my single car garage into a gym and this AC is perfect. Good size room and it cools quickly. Would definitely recommend this product.

Don't buy, this thing is super noisy and it makes a whistling sound every time the compressor comes on. It's even more noisy in oscillating mode. I don't know if we just got a junky one or what but not really happy about it.

For 450 I expected more cooling
