No wonder this is a best seller. Well made. The posts are solid even though they have cedar panels on the outside and lots of 2x2s inside to make they solid. But you have to use your own judgement in using the manual to fit your own needs. I put up the basic frame first and keep making sure the 4 posts are perfectly straight before the next step. Also, DON'T screw in the 4 braces early, as they suggested in the manual, until the very last step. Because as you take a step to make one post straight, the other posts shift. As careful as I was to make sure I do the braces last, I still had to redo all posts! To lift up the entire structure to secure the post footing with concrete screws is unrealistic because by then the pergola is already too heavy. It is like a table already. Why would you fasten down an 600 lb dining table?

The pergola came in three packages. Good quality materials and clear instructions. It took us about a day and half to complete installation. Transformed our backyard.

Beautiful pergola in fine red cedar. It is solidly set up on a 20 by 20 patio. It took a couple of days with a second person’s assistance some of the time. We followed recommendation to mount the frame before completing the top.

Every hole lined up perfectly minus the top Perlins. No big deal with them. Wife helped with a little bit of holding beams and I completed it in about 9 hours. 2 person job would be 6 easy.

Great deal for the price. One board was warped and need convincing to go in place, other than that it went smoothly. I wish the beams were one piece instead of putting end caps on

We had the builders who built our new deck also put together the pergola. Two pros put it together in a single day. It's a beautiful piece of work in a beautiful setting. We hope to enjoy it for years to come.

Looks fantastic. As a professional carpenter I was able to assemble completely with and apprentice in a leisurely 5 hours. Finish was uniform and all hardware present.

Since the purchase of the 10x10 pergola, it was pretty simple to put up and I'm enjoying it so far. Awaiting to see how it holds up during moderate to heavy winds. So far a great buy for the money!
