I bought this pergola direct from Backyard Discoveries and the pergola itself is fantastic. Fairly easy to assemble, my 19 yo daughter did most of it. I read a lot of the reviews that said the holes did not line up or that the hardware was junk. I did not find that to be the case at all. In fact I don't think you can build this for the price you get it for here. The hardware is not stainless, however it is powder coated and I did not have any problem stripping anything. It is very adequate and not cheap. The wood itself is Chinese ceder, It's not western red but for the price point It was fairly straight, and any minor twists are easily worked out as you build. I pre stained the wood with Olympic stain and seal #716. It was almost a perfect match. The pergola assembled looks fantastic!! My reason for only 4 stars is the use of YRC freight to ship this product. I know this is not directly related to the pergola or Backyard Discovery but please find a better company to work with. They were awful. They never called to let me know our appointment was not gonna happen and I lost a day of work. The shipment arrive 10 days later than our original appointment.

I purchased and installed Beaumont Cedar Pergola on my backyard deck. The pergola has added a whole new dimension to the deck and its usefulness. The cedar wood was high quality and smells great. The instructions were straight forward and pergola pieces marked which really helped during installation. Thanks for putting together a great product and a price that's very affordable. Pergola shipped and arrived within a week of ordering. Discovered a joist missing during assembly. Called customer service and they had a replacement on it's way in two days. Assembly was fairly straightforward but I recommend taking inventory of your parts, having a drill to fine tune pilot holes, and run all the nuts down the bolts prior to assembly. The coating tends to muck the threads up, making them useless. There were extras, but not many. I also ordered some stain as there are alot of touch-ups needed from shipping and assembly. Instructions were ok but take some time to understand so you avoid having to undo steps. It went together more or less as advertised. Added lights and it looks fantastic! .l

Mine has been up for 2 months now and it has completely transformed my patio. Installation is a breeze if you can follow simple directions and take your time. My wife and I put our pergola together in about 4-5 hours. The quality of the materials is much more nicer than any other pergola kit I have seen at the big box stores, I'm confident it will last for many years.

Pros: Great wood, durable hardware, good design. Very solid. Extra hardware. Cons: Plastic caps on top of four set posts leave 1/8" gap so that brace boards are unable to have bolds and nuts be threaded through - too much space. We tried cutting some of the edges and ultimately discarded the caps. Instructions not detailed enough to explain that two of four brace boards have a row of holes along their top (for the lattice) and need to be placed on outside of the two that lack holes. Probably should have had an extra page in the instructions for this or give the boards with holes a separate number. Neutral: Plastic base plates too flimsy for Florida hurricanes. We used steal base plates that worked well. Interior of set post are not solid cedar, but ripped pine 2x4s. However, cedar overlay done very well - looks like solid cedar. Wish the brace boards were 14' long w/o extensions, but shorter boards with extensions seems to work. Really need three people for this construction, not two.

We purchased this pergola several months ago and put it up soon after. My husband and I built it and it was not too difficult. The wood and hardware are very sturdy. We did re-stain it before we built it, but we knew we were going to do that when we purchased it. We just wanted a darker color than what it came with. The pergola looks and feels great out by our pool.

I bought this pergola late last summer and it was put up later in a raised area. I'm very pleased with it, as it looks fantastic. A few people passing by in vehicles have slowed down and looked at it. As the decking around the pergola will be completed soon, I look forward to enjoying it for a long time to come. The instructions and labelling of the associated pieces were as clear as a bell. It is better for two people to put it up as it is rather heavy, but once it is installed, it is eye candy.

BE AWARE that the 12 x 10 does NOT, I repeat, NOT refer to the size of the footprint as I had expected!!! Somewhat disappointed in the finished size of the product, but we will make it work. The manufacturer needs to make it clear about the actual footprint and finished dimensions in their advertising. I plan to also leave a review of this product on whatever website I find it is being sold. Having said that, the actual construction of this product is relatively simple and straightforward.

We purchased this in June. We had to wait to install once the concrete patio was completed. It took about 6 hours to install completely and we were completely impressed with the construction. All of the components necessary were included. It turned out to be much stronger than I expected. Originally I was going to build one from scratch but after pricing Cedar components and figuring out all of the hardware required we decided to order from you. So glad we did.

We bought the 16 x 12 Beaumont Pergola in April 2023. It was delivered quickly and the installation service Go Configure contacted us promptly, set up the appointment, showed up and efficiently installed the pergola. Great experience all the way around!!!
