This is a great purchase! We can't brag enough about how much we love ours! Easy to assemble. Keep in mind, it takes time, but worth every second! Great customer service! We had 2 small pieces of wood missing for the roof. We received it in 3 days! Amazing unit

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After spending a lot of money on a contractor to landscape my back yard, I decided I would purchase a pergola kit and save some money and put it together myself. I was not disappointed with the look and style of the pergola. It did take some time to ship and arrive which could have been better but once it arrived it took just about as much time as they predicted to put it together, but the end result was beautiful!

I bought this 16x12 set and put it up very easily between my wife and I with no other help. Instructions were precise and everything lined up. Only disappointment were the cement screws they gave me in the hardware box. 3 out of the first 4 snapped off while screwing them into the predrilled holes in the concrete. I stopped immediately and drove to the hardware store and purchased Tapcon cement scres of same size. it went smoothly with the new screws. It looks awesome!

I bought this pergola direct from Backyard Discoveries and the pergola itself is fantastic. Fairly easy to assemble, my 19 yo daughter did most of it. I read a lot of the reviews that said the holes did not line up or that the hardware was junk. I did not find that to be the case at all. In fact I don't think you can build this for the price you get it for here. The hardware is not stainless, however it is powder coated and I did not have any problem stripping anything. It is very adequate and not cheap. The wood itself is Chinese ceder, It's not western red but for the price point It was fairly straight, and any minor twists are easily worked out as you build. I pre stained the wood with Olympic stain and seal #716. It was almost a perfect match. The pergola assembled looks fantastic!! My reason for only 4 stars is the use of YRC freight to ship this product. I know this is not directly related to the pergola or Backyard Discovery but please find a better company to work with. They were awful. They never called to let me know our appointment was not gonna happen and I lost a day of work. The shipment arrive 10 days later than our original appointment.

BE AWARE that the 12 x 10 does NOT, I repeat, NOT refer to the size of the footprint as I had expected!!! Somewhat disappointed in the finished size of the product, but we will make it work. The manufacturer needs to make it clear about the actual footprint and finished dimensions in their advertising. I plan to also leave a review of this product on whatever website I find it is being sold. Having said that, the actual construction of this product is relatively simple and straightforward.

I am not one who usually writes reviews for items that I buy. But I want anyone who is thinking about this product to feel assured it will far exceed your expectations. I am thrilled with this pergola. It has added so much to our backyard. countless compliments from everyone who sees it. the quality of the wood and fasteners is top notch. . The ease of assembly is not often found in todays products. I would highly recommend this company for their customer service is very responsive and polite.

We've been looking for a backyard pergola for months and when we finally discovered Backyard Discovery, our searching was over. Not only is the quality great but the price is also! It came in two large boxes with all the parts well labeled. We'd recommend using the BILT app to walk through the assembly process with ease. We can't wait to enjoy our pergola for years to come.

We were looking for something to put over the top of our water garden. This worked perfect. It still lets the sunlight through but at the same time provides the shaded that is needed. Looks Fabulous in the back yard with the water garden. Wife is very happy!!!!!!

Everyone that we have had over thinks it is great looking and a real value. Our contractor was amazed by the quality of the kit and had no trouble setting the footings in the new pavers. The service from BYD has been so good that we also bought one of the large Grill Gazebos which let me keep grilling during a really wet winter here in Northern California.

During the 150 MPH winds and 12 foot storm surge we lost our gazebo. We searched high and low for a replacement. After one of our trips to Sam's we saw this pergola. We decided that this was just what we could use. We ordered it and hoped it would be as nice and better than what we had. Our neighbors, with my husband and I put it up within 2 days. WOW it was awesome. We sent out the invites says that DOCKTAILS are on!!!! It was so great getting back to some normalcy after Ian. Everyone though it was really beautiful. Looking forward to many evenings with our friends and neighbors just having some cocktails, some food and conversation. Many people go by on their boats and remark how nice it looks. I just smile and says thanks.
