Is the newer model worth it? Seems promising

In all fairness, this review is based off of the performance of the Destination AT. When I got my Jeep back in 2021, it already had the Destination AT tires on it & I've was very happy w/ how they performed in regards to ride, handling, & stopping power in wet conditions. They rode smooth, the noise level wasn't terrible but I've never really cared much about that-you're going to have noise while driving after all. Handling & grip was good, they never felt like they were trying to come out from under me during a turn. The stopping power during wet conditions I especially liked, mainly during winter. That's why when I was told I needed new tires I decided to stay w/ the same style as what I had & was informed that they were now Destination AT2. I just had them installed yesterday, 11-17-23 so I haven't gotten much drive time in on them yet but what time I did get in, I wasn't disappointed. Rode nice & smooth, felt a little firmer too but that could've also been the adjustments the dealer made to my alignment's X/Y axis. As much as I hate to say this, I'm looking forward to winter to see if the newer model meets &/or exceeds its predecessor. I feel like it will

Happily impressed

First time getting the FS Destination AT2s in the P245/60R18 size. I ended up getting a second set for my 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz AWD because I was so impressed. Ive had multiple brands of ATs including Bridgestone, Falken, Toyo, and BFGs, and these Firestones are the first to get their advertised miles out of them. Mileage wise, these are the first AT tires I've owned that made it to 48K miles. I could have made it to the 55K mark but here in Montana you cannot ride on bald tires. Our weather is too unpredictable and inclement weather can hit at any time. I had 3 -4/32nd left on the set. When I first got these tires, I was able to do 75 mph+ in a Montana blizzard at -30F in 6in+ snow in perfect control. At the 3-4/32nd depth, you really take a hit on control/traction in rain and snow, and I was starting to hydroplane at 65-70mph for the first time. Street: great braking and control. Fairly quiet. Not H/T tire quiet, but significantly definately quieter than Falkens or Toyo ATs Resilience: they are pretty tough, the took a lot of hits while cruising to Yellowstone and Glacier National park and kept going. However, I did pick up a screw which resulted in a slow leak on one time. Fuel efficiency: Took maybe 0-1 mpg loss from all season/street tires. Negligible All Terrain capability: They do great in gravel, mud, and forest land. I did not get a chance to try it in sand. Never got stuck once. These tires consistently test well on YouTube and I can only confirm these are the best all around AT tires. If you are considering them, buy them, You can't go wrong. As soon as my 2024 4x4 Chevy Silverado RST OEM Territory ATs go dead, I will be getting a set of these for it as well.

Keeping it Real

OK, we put 350 Miles on our vehicle every weekend pulling some sort of Trailer, 80% Highway-20% two track, Boat Ramp, sand, gravel, snow and such. All I can say is we use our Truck for what it was designed to do. this set of tires show's maybe 30% wear! not to mention none of them took any major weight to balance. I did upsize to 285/70/17 with no interference issues. last year 11" of snow fell while I was in the timber hunting, driving out was a non-issue, hitting the untouched main road, again 18 miles of confidence. I'm not trying to sell anything, but would rather like to share what is working out very well for our crew of Misfits. catch us in Hale Michigan, if you can Find us!!!

Replacing Designation A/T Tires

I purchased the Designation A/T2 tires with the hope that they will perform the same as the Designation A/T that I was replacing. These tires had over 57,000 miles and if it wasn't for winter I easily had enough tread for another 10,000 miles or so. They were nice and quiet on the road and pretty good in the snow too. Nice looking too with the outlined white letters.

Great Tires

These tires lasted 10K more than advertised. I drove them in all conditions and had grip in almost every situation (ice didn't fair great but most tires do not). Great in wet conditions and very good in the snow. The ride noise is good not great and they absorb bumps well. I didn't like them on my Jeep Grand Cherokee but love them on my truck. I hope this second set is as good as the first.

My Forever AT Tire!

Ive had these 275/60R20 Firestone Destination A/T2's for a couple weeks now. Have had heavy rain and tonight visiting family and they wanted to do some night off road. Man these things are FANTASTIC. QUIET, smooth, gained a couple mph on the 2hr trip. Great rain performance and much better than my prior 33x12.5 more expensive and aggressive tires from another brand. Tonight these things performed admirably off road with just a little more sink into very soft deep sand and some mud. They are noticeably narrower so I expected this. Even did a couple steep grades to upper trails and had zero slippage. Even stopping to get out on one grade to scout over the crest, it just picked right up and had no issue continuing. I'm impressed and have confidence in longevity because all of the sipes are full tread depth unlike the prior tires. I will replace with these again if I have the truck long enough. If you want an AT tire that is SUPER road friendly but still totally capable for some fun off road, no questions I recommend these.

Great Tire

I have never had such an aggressive tread pattern on my truck and at 225K miles, I have had my share fair of tires on the truck. I have had Destination LE and Bridgestone Dualers, but they were more of highway tires. I have to say that these tires stick to the road on dry and wet pavement. I haven't had snow or ice as of yet, but I'm sure they will do just as good. These are a very nice tire at a decent price. I would purchase again.

Great tires-bad at oil changes

Great tires that provide durability and value. Highly recommend tires. A hour and a half for an oil change is crazy bad and the service center says that is the average time require. Insane to even think this is acceptable. Great tires . Bad service!!!

Destination AT/2 = Excellent Tire

After 53k miles, I needed to replace the original Firestone Destination ATs that came on my 2016 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk, which were really good tires. I decided to go with the AT/2s, because of their higher all-weather rating. Living in Wisconsin, you really need tires that can perform in dry, rainy and extreme winter conditions. After roughly 2500 miles, and several snow storms and daily temps in the teens through 30s, these tires have performed wonderfully. I feel very secure in my AT/2s; regardless, if its rain, sleet, snow, ice...plus wind...no worries. I couldn't count the times I mentioned to my wife "I am so happy we bought these tires!" Additionally, the road noise on the AT/2s is not bad at all for an all-terrain tire...they actually sound really cool. Lastly, these tires are not an overly aggressive looking tire, but still are very nice and capable looking. The AT/2 is truly an excellent tire.

Mr. Sid

I sell a variety of tire brands and my customers rave about these tires, so I bought a set for my own personal truck. These tires so far are absolutely fantastic! Excellent in the dry, wet, smooth on the highway, and quiet running. I can't wait until it snows to try them out. No regrets about this purchase, excellent value for the money paid.
