I have always wanted a pergola, so I am very happy with this one. I love that it comes with a power outlet which makes it a breeze adding string lights to it. You can sit and enjoy nature; or bring alexa out, plug it in to the outlet, enjoy enjoy some music with a glass of wine. It ceates a wonderful place to relax.

Originally we bought a 14x10 Somerville Pergola for an outdoor seating are by the pool, but after it was erected we liked it so much we bought an identical 2nd one, and when combined they will make a very nice 28x20 Orchid House with electricity for misting & heating. However, we still needed that outdoor seating area, so we bought a 14x10 Cordova Gazebo also. The fit & finish are excellent, and the they offer excellent value.

I wanted to use a Pergola for my Outdoir Patio. Wanted some shade but not too much. Backyard Discovery SOMERVILLE was a perfect fit and I love the barnwood stain color. The electricity hookup feature is an added bonus. At night the stringed lights we added give a warm, soft glow.

We bought this pergola as a second choice, but it is perfect for our space. I was surprised it for in the boxes is arrived in, it is cut into pieces (which I did not like) and my husband had to drill in some places that were not exactly right, but overall it is beautiful. It took the two of us a few evenings to get it up (I would recommend more than two people for assembly).

Extremely happy with our purchase. We originally got a quote to build a custom cedar pergola and it came in around $6,500! After looking thru several options we went with the Somerville, it was cedar which was my main requirement as well as the clean modern lines. The color was a bonus and size is wide enough to comfortably fit our outdoor dining set. I ordered 2 sets and my husband made some modifications and turned it into 1 large pergola at a fraction of the costs the custom build would have been. Added some string lights and it's the perfect addition to our yard!

We’ve had this pergola for a year now and we still absolutely love it. It adds the perfect structural element to our new backyard concrete patio. Hang some lights for some fabulous night time ambiance. The only negative I would have to say - the instructions say 2-3 people to assemble, but I was happy we had a 4th person to help with the step where you have to stand the very heavy leg posts up; that part was really tricky and impossible for us with only 3 people. Otherwise the assembly was straight forward. We are very happy with our purchase!

I purchased this Pergola to give my backyard a specified space for my patio gathering area. The pergola took my nephew about 4 hours to assemble. There were a couple of boards that were scratched from delivery. I called customer service and they immediately offered me a touch up stain. Two of the boards had a split and they sent out replacements ASAP! Not only is the product prefect for my space but the customer service was the BEST I have encountered.

We wanted a pergola to go on our outdoor patio to help block some of the sun but not block it out completely. I found this pergola on Sams.com and it was the perfect size and with the added outlet feature it was a no brainer. Some of the wood pieces came warped which made installation a bit challenging but I made it work.

I would say this was a near perfect pergola! There were a few issues though so I can't give it five stars as much as I want to. It took me and my 21 year old son about a total of 5 hours to put this together. One thing I would change in the instructions is to build the sides so all four posts are attached, then put it in it's final resting place *before* putting on all the cross beams. This is not exactly light at this point and can only imagine how heavy it would have been had we built it all the way then moved it. Some of the 2x6 cross beams had a slight twist them which caused the 2x2 beams to miss their pre-drilled holes. Fortunately the 2x6's didn't crack while attaching the 2x2's. Speaking of the 2x2's, this is one of the reasons it did not get five stars. A number of them were warped. Because we bossed them around, we were able to get them on mostly straight though. Then the hardware. For the most part, the hardware was great! The cement screws were a joke. I pre-drilled into my cement (have to use a hammer drill) and the bit I used was 5/32" but I still couldn't get them to go in. I guess I should have used a bigger bit? I am glad that each pack of hardware came with two extras since as you can see from the attached picture, one screw had no threads, one bolt had no threads as well was bent, and another bolt was bent beyond usage. Overall, I'd recommend this. It does definitely take two people to build and did go together as long as you follow the instructions and do not tighten any of the bolts until you've got it in place.
