Only 9.5 oz of broccoli not 16oz.

I thought the bags have had less broccoli than years previous so I weighed them. Each bag with frozen broccoli is 16oz. After you microwave it and drain the water it only weighs 9.5 oz. Ingredient list says it's only broccoli. Something isn't adding up. Is Sam's adding water to the broccoli, freezing it, then weighing 16 oz and putting that into the bags? I will say that the broccoli tastes really good though.

Supersaturated with Water

We love broccoli. We eat frozen broccoli all the time. This was so gross, I could find no way to prepare this that wasn't terrible and I will be throwing out the rest of the bag. The florets were so logged with water that the first time I made it steamed, each bite was like eating a soggy wet rag. The second time I defrosted it, drained the water, and then used multiple paper towels to sop up the rest of the water (it took time) and then after crisping them in oil they were still soggy. If I could give this a 0 out of 5 I would.

BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!

I wish I could add a picture. There was more stems than florets and a lot of black spots. I’m not sure what the spots were. Maybe mold? If you have to trim each piece, you might as well buy fresh broccoli. I usually like the frozen vegetables as they are faster and easier to prepare. I thought I could depend on Sam’s for quality, but I won’t be buying any more frozen vegetables with the Members Mark name on them

Quality is gone.

I've been buying this for years and it was always good. Unfortunately, about 6 months ago I noticed that the quality has gone downhill. When you dump it in the bowl to cook, half of it looks good but the other half is dark and brownish. I've switched back to Birdseye's.

Product Has Changed

This broccoli was our go-to for years, but the last several bags we have bought are totally different than they use to be. They have added water, reduced the microwave time, and the product is mostly tough stems now. Disappointed that the product we use to purchase every Sam’s run is no more!

Taste is not good.

Bought this for years and it was fine. In the last couple years the flavor is so strong of fertilizer or bad water that we shop elsewhere for broccoli. My wife and I eat about three pounds a week but neither one of us can stomach this stuff. Birdseye Flowerets are amazing by comparison. I love shopping at Sam's but this product is not Sam's quality.

Sad trickery

We have been buying this for years, suddenly every single bag the broccoli is coated in so much frozen water that after it’s cooked your microwave floor is filled with water. It’s an easy way for them to give you less broccoli for the same weight and yet the price is higher than ever. And suddenly one bag isn’t enough for my family of three for dinner.

Disturbed

I’ve purchased this broccoli for years with my method of prep often being steaming it in the microwave. I made Alfredo and decided instead of steaming it I’d add it to the last minutes of cook time for my pasta. I pour the bag in and something caught my eye on of the florets. It was a worm. I chopped this off to a one off and did not report it. I decided I’d be washing before prep going forward and today was the day. I’m not sure how these past inspection. I’ve spotted multiple worms! I understand worms will be on vegetables, but for a product that comes in a steam bag and is to be consumed afterwards, this is unacceptable. I’m so disturbed that I’ll be trashing the remaining bags.

Used to be the best broccoli, NOW I no longer buy

After purchasing this broccoli for years, it changed for the worse. We did notice there was a lot of water, but I didn’t think about that much. What was bad was having to throw out up to half of each bag almost every time. The broccoli was half rotten when put in the bags. Brown-to very brown. The half we did eat was only passable, not good like it used to be. It finally got to where I sometimes had to throw an entire bag away! I continued to buy it hoping it would get better, but it just got worse. Oh and it also sometimes just had a large chunk of stalk with no floret on it. I have a photo from the last bag we bought, but could not get it to attach.

Not like it used to be

I've been buying this product for years, and I've always been happy with it. But lately I've noticed there is not as much broccoli in each bag. The package still says 1 lb, but they must be putting extra water in it to make up the difference because there is definitely less broccoli. I always use the same serving bowl and can tell it is not as much. I'd prefer if they were going to skimp on the quantity, that they at least be honest and change it on the packaging.
