Michelin Defender2 - 235/40R19 96V Tire

Tires are quiet. My last set had 68,000 miles on them and still had tread left.

Longevity

I am very disappointed with the Michelin Defender 2.  The 4 tires are rated for 80,000 miles.  However, I am experiencing uneven wear (feathering) on al 4 tires at 12,000 miles.  I have documentation to prove I have been aligning my tires at Firestone since the tires were purchased new.  The shocks and struts are new on my vehicle.  However, I am experiencing noisy tires, and the roads feel bumpy all the time.

Poor Reliability

I recently switched to the Michelin Defender 2 tires from the Primacy MXM4s (~5 years, 45k miles). While I've only driven a single, nearly 200-mile trip, the difference in performance is quite noticeable.

The most positive aspect is the improved traction and control. The torque transfer feels much better, leading to a more responsive acceleration compared to the Primacy tires.

The trade-off, however, is the noticeable increase in road noise, particularly at speeds around 80. It's a significant difference compared to the quieter Primacy experience. 

I am hopeful that the enhanced durability and potential tread life (80k miles company warranty) will ultimately make the Defender 2 a worthwhile change.
