It has been years since I had my last baby, I used to love this detergent so I recently purchased it for my newborn. I cannot stand the smell it left behind. Coming out of the washer all of his clothing smelled like pool water. I thought it would smell differently once dried but it smells worse now, like plastic. I will have to re-wash everything with a different detergent. I do not have time for this, and I imagine most moms to be don’t either.

I grew up in a Dreft household and have long considered it a reliable and trusted brand. As another reviewer described it, the current formula smells like “florals and cigarettes.” It is so overpowering and nothing like I remember. After trying it on my own clothes and winding up with a headache, I tossed the bottle in the trash.
