This gate seems sturdy but the latch is hard to use. You would want it to be difficult for a child but this one is not like their other latches that you just push and slide at the same time to open. This gate has a little locking device you have to unlock that and lift the handle then open gate then lower handle which makes it lock again, you have to use two hands which is difficult carry a child or anything else. We are using the extensions with my original shorter gate (almost same model, same brand) because it is so much easier to use.

Fits or 50" opening well, used the large and one small extender. Great height for our toddlers and dog. We rent so we are using the pressure mount system, it works will enough, can be moved some by my 4yr since it's on a smooth surface. The adjusters are almost maxed out but there isnt enough rin for another extenderso I feel it would be secure with wal mounts.

It is very easy to use and the same price as the ones that ruin the walls. I also like that the pieces work together with the other gates. I was able to use the extensions from on of the gates for a larger area. Would highly recommend these to pet owners and those with small children.

We originally purchase two to keep our labradoodle puppy restrained. These work wonders! Our pup isn't very aggressive - but even when he gets a little pushy - these keep in place. I like that they vary in sizes to fit different sized spaces. Liked so much - we purchased a 3d for the kitten room - to keep the dog out. Highly recommend!!

I purchase this brand because I have another one (only bigger). I was disappointed with the locking mechanism on this gate being plastic and too easy to open. My larger gate has a metal latch and is much sturdier. Disappointed and hoping the lock holds up :(

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was needing a baby gate for my front porch to keep my baby and dog from going down the steps. I love this gate because I am able to use it in my house, which isnt as wide....but to also stretch it out to up to 56 inches! It's very hard to find a gate that reaches that wide so I am very pleased. It comes with different attachments to help adjust to different sizes. It's high quality and strong so I dont have to worry about it falling down on my kids.

Just put up the item. It seems good and sturdy. My only complaint is that I can't open it with one hand. When you release the lever it doesn't open enough to swing through freely. I have to push away from the gate in order to open it. Still nice and sturdy to it will work just a lil frustrating.

I admit it was a little expensive,, but by far the best gate. I had an oversized hallway to block off to keep my child who is two , out of my kitchen. I've bought and used other gates at other times and would have used one of the others again, but none of the others expanded as wide as I needed. I found this one and was very skeptical thinking it would be flimsy due to the distance. I was wrong,, it is very sturdy and I've actually caught her more than once trying to climb it, it never once fell over. The latch mechanism is the best I've seen on a gate so far, very solid also. Way too tricky for a 2 year old to figure out, but not too complicated that a 4 year old couldn't work it without difficulty. As my boy had no problems learning how, i think He learned how after 2 tries. All in all, if you have a larger than normal area to secure off and have the money available, buy this one ! You will not regret it.

If you see in the description it says the gate expands to 58", and below that it says included are 3 extensions. Added altogether it should add up to 70 inches wide right?? Wrong!!! This gate came up short by a long shot and i'm so aggravated i have to keep searching for a gate that is long enough.

This gate works perfectly in our 48" opening and if installed correctly is very sturdy. When installing it will appear the latch of the door is not going to catch properly, but once tightened as instructed, it works perfectly. So glad this is the gate we went with. Great purchase at a great price!
