I have had these tires on my Chevy Equinox for over 10,000 miles and do not recommend them due to the road noise. Like another reviewer, the noise is noticeable between 30-70 MPH which is just about all the driving I do. The deafening noise did not start until I had the tires on for about 2,000 miles and due to my local Sam's Club being appointment only and only having a single installation bay open the last several months, I was not able to get them balanced/rotated until about 9,000 miles and by that point, the noise had gotten increasingly worse. They stop well and handle rain, but my last set of tires which cost half as much were quieter than these. I do not recommend these tires.

I’m a retired Red Seal Mechanic and I have never in my 45 years of experience had any issues with Michelin Tires. Most notably thing about installing and balancing Michelin tires is how well they fit along with minimal weights required to balance Michelin tires. Needless to say if you require 1oz or more in weight to balance a Michelin tire, then check your Rim! Michelin tires are also one of the quietest tires on the road, as well as superb performance! We have a saying in the mechanic world around these parts! Once you drive with Michelin Tires on your vehicle, you will not want to drive on anything else!

I would not drive my car without Michelin Tires (and I have two Cars) since I purchased the car new in 2006. I have all ways purchased the best tire they make for my cars and have had nothing but the best ride and performance I could get from tires. Never had a tire that was defective and I have outstanding mileage performance from the Michelin Brand.

Great tires that grip better than any All Season I’ve ever owned. Wet (rain) or dry pavement, these tires hug the road like the best of them. I’d give them 5 stars, except I find them to be a little louder past 70km/h than I’d like… they have a slight buzz depending on the speed at which you’re rolling which gets higher pitched and louder the faster you go. I stalled on a 2021 Mazda CX-5.

I switched the Yokohama YK-GTX for Michelin Defender 2 tires. The Yokos were stiff, jolted over road holes/bumps, responsive steering, but were nice & quiet. Wanted a smooth, quiet ride, that handled curves smoothly and that absorbed holes and bumps on roads and the freeway like my previous Michelins did. The Defender 2 tires are horrible. My car feels like a Tilt-a-Whirl, unstable, squirrely, and they are not quiet, mostly smooth, but the steering needs second-to-second monitoring and concentration. My last Michelins were outstanding and outlasted their warranty, just stated cracking in the Arizona summer heat. They were smooth, quiet, absorbing and steered wonderfully. So disappointed, paid much more for the Michelins and now I feel stuck...

After having great performance and wear from my previous Defender tires I went with the Defender 2 tires this time. The original Defender tires still had another 10,000 miles of summer driving left on them but living here in Montana I need that deep tread depth for the winter. driving conditions here. I'm sure that these Defender 2 will be as good as or better than the original Defender tires.

Worst tires I have ever owned. I drive a 2015 Honda Odyssey and the Defender 2 makes this car almost indriveable in wet weather. In the rain or on wet pavement from a stop sign there is tire slippage and if I am turning from a stop sign the tires slip to the point that the traction light turns on (I am being very gentle on the throttle). Merging from a turn causes the van to slide and momentarily lose traction. I have had the tires store where I bought these look at them on 2 occasions and nothing visibly wrong with the tire, and I have had repair shops check out the van, and it is fine. I am going into my 3rd winter with these tires and every wet season they have been terrible. Stay away from these tires, especially if you own a 2011-2017 Honda Odyssey.

I love the performance of my tires. Have been buying michelin for years and will not change. Matter of fact I put these on my 2017 honda in April and got a new honda in june. I insisted they switch the tires off the new vehicle and put my michelins on it which they did

Purchased 4 Defender 2 tires in the spring of 2023 for a 2020 Mazda CX5. Very satisfied with the tires. These are being used mostly for highway driving in the spring/summer and fall. I have another set of rims and tires for winter driving. They don't seem to have any wear and they are quiet on the highway. Handling is excellent, as I would expect from a Michelin tire. I would definitely recommend these tires to anyone looking for new tires.
