I am so upset. I ordered this cake for an adult dinner party and it’s covered in rainbow candy sprinkles. It looks like it’s for a kindergartners birthday party. Why Sam’s? Why? It used to have nice chocolate details on the top. Whoever did this needs to be fired. And if you’re going to change things at least put it in the description that you’re changing it. I never would have gotten this if I knew they would have done this.

Usually good, but….

Bought this for Mother’s Day gathering. It looked delicious as we love the gourmet cupcakes but they were out but when our gathering of 6 dug in, it was awful! It was dry, the layers really had no significant flavor as you would think. Yuck, for $17 I could have bought a delicious Bundt cake. Nobody finished it. Really surprised at all the raving reviews, they must have a low bar for cake.

For an expensive dessert, it would really be nice if the container (tray/lid) fitted together to keep the cake fresh. There is not fit involved with the lid/tray. The tray is a coated cardboard. The top is a great quality (like the round dessert covers). It appears to me there should be a tray of the same material/quality as the top. The last time I bought a similar item, it was the same issue. Disappointed and won't buy a product shaped like this again. The cakes (standard round multi-layer type) have great covers/lids that lock in place. You can hear a click when this container/lid snap together.

This cake is so delicious. So soft and not overbearing. It’s a mousse cake. Light and airy.
