2 sets of LTX M/S

The LTX M/S tires are standard equipment on my 2005 GMC Envoy Denali 2WD. I am preparing to get my third set of tires for this vehicle, yet I only have 76k miles on the vehicle, which means I only get 34k miles out of these tires per set. My complaint is the tires seem soft, and I do not get the expected mileage out of these tires. I am trying to get a set of Michelin LTX AT2's but they are on a long back order. I have the LTX AT2s on both a 2009 Chevy Silverado 3/4 ton 4x4, and also on a 2002 Chevy TrailBlazer 2WD. I get fabulous tire wear on these vehicles.

I do mechanical design ...

I do mechanical design work and I am an avid mountainbiker; as a result, I know the importance of product quality and functionality; espesially where the "rubber meets the road". Two things matter on my SUV: tires and battery. I have tried many different tires and nothing compares to these. Long tread life, dependable hold, and precise control. Put these on and you are set for years to come.

Quiet, comfortable and capable tire

I recently put these on my 2015 Grand Cherokee and so far, they are great. Prior to these, I had the Latitude Tours, which I loved. These have a more aggressive looking tread pattern, and initially, I was a bit concerned they would have increased road noise, or compromise the comfort of the ride, but I have to say I am impressed - they are as good in those respects as the Latitude. These appear to be a more capable tire in snow and mud and I am looking forward to taking them through a Minnesota Winter. Recommmended!

Great handling in crisis situation

A year ago, my 2008 F150 needed new tires. The original tires were 255/65-17 but Michelin had none in inventory and none scheduled to be produced so I had bought the 265/65-17. The tires have great road handling grip as was illustrated a short time after the purchase. During a rainstorm on an isolated two lane black-top, they helped me avoid a head-on collision when a car crossed into my lane and just kept coming despite my flashing headlights and blasting of the horn. I had two of my 14 year olds with me and since there were no other cars on the road, we quickly swerved to the left as the "distracted driver" flew past us in our lane at 70+ mph. I immediately thanked the Lord for the new Michelins and our safety. Today, after 16,000 miles the tread-wear has worn from 13/32" to 10/32" so I expect to get around 60,000 miles and about 3 more years from this set.

Very Pleased With Performance

I was actually thinking about the comfort and the smooth ride I get with these Tires and I like them enough to buy again. The cracking and appearance of My old one's is rushing Me, I'm only at 50% or maybe 40% tread, I would be able to get another Season or 2 at least.....it'd be worth the money then.

CReaM, we'd suggest that you have the tires inspected by a Michelin retailer in your area to get more info on the cracking. Call us at 866-866-6605 from their store. One of our Consumer Care Team members can assist you.

On my Sierra 1500, I managed to get 105,000 miles out of my first set. On the second set, I achieved 85,000 on the set, but only replaced the two rear tires. The front two appeared to have 50% tread left. I drove the back two over inflated for too long after hauling a heavy load and inflating the tires to compensate. Great Tires.

THE BEST

I have been driving and buying tires for over 50 yrs and these LTX M/S are by far the smoooothest riding tires I ever had. I could feel the difference in 2 blocks. I only have 200 miles on them so I have to wait and see how they last. I only give them 4 stars because I just bought them. They are NOT cheap but I think they will be worth it.

Not as good as they used to be

This is my third set of LTX/MS tires. the first two were great, over 60,000 miles, but this set has sidewall cracks after 25,000 miles. I don't hit curbs, so I don't know why they are forming. I want to buy a new set, but need more than 25,000 miles for the price I paid.

Bought these for my ...

Bought these for my wife's 02 explorer sport. Wanted a tire to handle slick wet roads and slight off-road conditions. Tires have preformed beyond expectation. I even took them through truck size mud holes to see what they could handle. Tires held grip very well and tread stayed clear of debri. Same for snowy roads, good all around performer. I feel better knowing that my wife is riding around on tires I can depend on. They are amazing and suprized me with their rough and tough ability even though they look mild mannered.

Nice tires

The tires have a great ride and feel. I have noticed that I am getting about 2 miles per gallon less than my old tires. I realize it could be a variety of things but my driving habits are about the same. It is the beginning of winter so maybe that has something to do with it.
