cant go wrong with Defender
I bought this system as soon as it came back in stock. I have been waiting for Defender to come out with a better upgrade to my current system (a Defender with 600TVL) and didn't want to go with their 2k wireless version. Being impatient as I am, I installed the DVR as soon as I got it without running the new cables or the new cameras, and even then see improvement on every level. Once I had someone get in my attic to run the cables, and installed the new cameras I was extremely impressed with the resolution. I mean come on it's 4k. Even on a 1080p monitor it's ridiculously clear.

Excellent camera
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We use this for security in our children areas and it is great. We never had any issues with installation or with bad feed. We are going to purchase additional cameras for another building because we have been so happy with it.

Security vulnerability
I purchased a system from this company and after the warranty ran out they no longer want to offer firmware or support for there production. I have found that with a third party application user account can perform administration functions with your dvr. Support team told me they no longer support my model. It is only 2 years old. If you want to buy a system with a company that expects you to buy a new system every 2 years then look somewhere else.
Great picture and easy set up
I purchased this unit about a month ago. We love it. It has a great picture and the set up was as easy as it could be. I would have given it 5 stars but I am having a slight problem with getting notifications. I have contacted customer support. Once this gets resolved it will be definitely a 5 star.

great for price
great cameras. disappointed in the lack of technical knowledge on the system from Defender based on how new it is. They don't sell extension wires, nor can they even tell me the specs of the wires so that i could buy elsewhere. So if you need long runs, you may want to wait to buy until they have extensions.
The cameras really work great at night
I was very disappointed that the DVR did not include a remote control. With my physical disability, I very much need a remote. I had to keep using my older model HD1T8 DVR because it has a remote. I installed the eight 4K cameras and I am very pleased with the quality and ease of installation. The night vision is fantastic. I just hope in the future a 4K DVR will be available.

Everything you need
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This system is absolutely great. It has everything you need to monitor your home. You have four cameras that provide beautiful color 4K pictures, and they are weather resistant. It has a DVR to save your video footage for review. You can also check remotely from an app on your phone. I was really impressed that an HDMI cable was included so that I could hook the system right up to my TV to view. There is no monthly cost for monitoring and I see no need for a contract security service. There is even a window decal to announce that your home is protected. I highly recommend this complete, affordable system for everyone.

Just what we were looking for
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There have been many break-ins around our are lately so we decided we needed to be prepared! I work from home and my elderly mom in law lives with us and so many of the break ins have been during the day. With 8 camera's we had the ability to have them inside and out! Eye's every where! After much thought we decided to set up 2 cameras in the house-facing the front and back doors and the other 6 around the perimeter of our house. Installation was pretty easy for my husband who is used to running coax cable! The feed is so clear! Here's to hoping we never "need" the recordings, but we sleep much better now knowing we have it!

Pretty good system
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The system has a good picture. I wish there was an audio option. It would be easier if the cables were longer too. Took a bit to get it set up but in the end I am happy with the way it all works. It’s much better than my previous set up.

Review after 3 months
I purchased these cameras due to the 4K I will say the wide angle is good the clarity of these cameras are much better plus when you have the cameras on the phone app you can view regular then goto HD which enhances the clarity plus you can zoom in on a spot which give better detail. I will say they quality is there. I personally don't like the red dot the camera has that you see at night. I prefer no sign that the camera is on. The mounting is very good with adjustments you can get these cameras under the soffit to keep them out of the sun which is my benefit so you can still have the camera level. I don't understand all the features which there are several that I don't use. I do enjoy the app on the phone. The set up isn't bad I had to call for support since I messed up the setup you need to follow each step exactly or they wont work. I like the playback feature you just need to watch the speed your play back you can miss some activity if your going too fast. overall the quality is great daily operation great value not bad for what you get
