The jury remains out on my new Tempur-Pedic mattress. It replaced a hybrid from another manufacturer in its twelfth year of use that developed uncomfortable strike through to the quite firm support layers. The ProAdapt Hybrid was chosen simply because the in-store sample felt the most comfortable among the several hybrids and others on site. Despite the warning of the break-in requirement in the product literature, I found the first few days of use bordering on intolerable. With a week or two of additional use the mattress is becoming better to sleep on and I'm willing to withhold final judgement pending further break-in. I suspect my prior mattress was softer overall (and I'm older and creakier now), but I fondly recall the wonderful, enveloping support it provided during and after break-in. None of the in-store options at Mattress Firm offered this and, in the end, I may pursue adding a topper to try to recapture the feel of the prior mattress.

Both wife and I have had multiple back surgeries and still suffer significantly with back pain. This mattress has made sleep for us a little easier. We both wish the queen size mattress and adjustable base were available in split configuration like king size are.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this bed for about a month. In that short amount of time there is a noticeable difference in my back and shoulder pain. I wake up in the morning feeling rested. The best decision I have made! The customer service is wonderful too.

The price for these mattresses and adjustable bases are outrageous! With that said, we are about 1 month into using our mattress and it is hard to get out of bed in the morning because you sleep so deeply. I swear this mattress makes you sleep longer and deeper, which is great for me. I used to take forever to fall asleep and then wake up every couple of hours between the night...not anymore. Love the firmness, yet not firm. Love the way it contours to your body but doesn't "suck" you in. One big flaw, the mattress is very hot! Supposedly it has cooling technology, but doesn't seem to work because we were both waking up in a pile of sweat. The good news is that we bought a cooling mattress pad from a local store that didn't break the bank and it solved the problem. We thought about trading it in before we bought the cooling mattress pad for the Tempur-pedic that has the most cooling technology, but that one was even more expensive. Bought the cooling pad and have no sweating issues anymore. To sum it up, price is very steep, but I have never slept better once I purchased a mattress cooling pad for it.

Our first became a guest room mattress that always got rave reviews from our house guests. The second lasted 15 years, but this was seems even better.

I absolutely 100% regret paying this much money for the most uncomfortable piece of garbage. Just buy slab of sidewalk, it'll be much more comfortable and a heck of a lot cheaper.

This mattress has helped me sleep well for the first time in 10 years! My lower back pain in bed no longer keeps me awake and I no longer have pressure points causing nerve pain. The best investment we ever made!!!

The mattress is really comfortable. I had a ton of shoulder pain before I got the mattress. I went to a chiropractor and got this new mattress. Now I feel 95% better. It's awesome!

We purchased this mattress after years of suffering with regular mattresses. My husband and I have the best sleep we have ever had! We no longer wake up sore and achy from tossing and turning during the night. There is nothing I don't love about it.
