I really like this foodsaver. I had a vertical model for many years, I loved it but it finally quit. This new model is smaller, lighter weight and simpler. I really like using it and hope it has as long a life as my last one.

My last machine was having problems with vacuuming air but had gotten it many years ago! Love this new machine! You can package food as much or as little as you need.

I bought this vacuum sealer because my old one finally gave out. It started out good but after a month it quit completing the vacuum and seal process. I now must vacuum then change the setting to seal to complete the process. Even with this it will not always seal. I have changed the rubber seals, but it did not help. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

A friend of mine has one and taught me how to use his. I bought mine and am very pleased with it. One little thing I would like much better is another color. The black one is a little hard to see when sealing and vacuuming. The light color one is much easier to work with, but I wouldn't trade mine for anything. It's given me so much more room in my freezer and it's kind of fun to use.

Had one of these from about 20 years ago. Worked like a charm until a couple months ago. I figure ... if the first one lasted 20 years ... this brand was worth another try. Well, I dont know if it will last 20 years but, it is working GREAT for the time being. I will be keeping my fingers crossed for the next 20!

I put off buying this forever even though i buy meat in bulk. I just kept using regular freezer bags because I didnt see what all the hype was about this. I finally broke down and bought it and can honestly say, i get the hype now. This makes packaging my meat and other stuff so much easier. It is quick and fits in the freezer so much better and does such a great job at keeping my stuff from getting freezer burnt. I love it.

I bought this as a present for my daughter and her family. I have a chamber vacuum sealer that cost about 10 times as much as this unit. I thought this would introduce her to the advantages of having a sealer and saving money and food. She can now buy in bulk and save a lot of money on food. I told her how to prepare large meals and save and freeze them. This way she can cook several meals at once and then vacuum seal them to reheat on a busy day. I've been doing this for years and eat much more healthy than fast food. So far she loves it!!

This is my second one, the old one that is over ten years old is still working. It just has one button that sticks. But it still works. I had Sam's cash rewards and this was on sell so I treated myself. They have come a long way. Now the roll is inside the machine, with a cutter. It also now has a trough to catch the liquids and protect the vacuum intake from sucking in the liquid. It also has a seal mode to seal potato chip and other bags that do not need to be vacuumed. I used it the other day to reseal my crab cakes to put the rest back in the freezer. I use mine all the time to vacuum pack my dressed quail mean, guinea meat, pheasant meat and chicken I raise here on the farm. I also use it to split up large purchases from Sam's and reseat them for the freezer.

Great product with excellent functionality. Can be used for freezing or for sous vide.
