I have 12 Rokus

Very much like Roku ultra that complements my 11 other Roku 4K streaming stick that I use with my YouTubeTv subscription. I bounce between two locations and like the single user interface that Roku provides across all TV brands and technologies (lcd , qled). All TVs operate with a single Roku remote Wish list——> backlight the buttons on the remote. Also, enable voice channel commands for YouTube Tv

Roku Sucks

I bought this POC a month ago and went on vacation. When I got back the remote was dead. I got online to see how to fix it. The website said replace the batteries, but my remote doesn't take batteries. Also, none of my available cabling fits the charger (I have Apple devices). When I try to request help from the website, I get a prompt that says enter your code that we sent you here. Only problem -- the code arrives 2 hours later -- one hour after it has expired. So I called them, but there's no real person you can talk to. Very frustrating.

Really like the product but one small thing

We made the switch to streaming and canceled cable :) All is good except the remote is acting up. We've used the Roku for about a month now and the remote is acting odd. I hit the volume up or down just a tap but it will turn up several numbers up and down. If the volume is at 15 and I tap to turn up a little, it will turn up to 60 on it's own (same when turning down too)

My 4th or 5th Roku device

This device seems to take longer to change channels and when you leave an app and want to go to another it’s the slowest I’ve ever had. Actually I have a black screen for probably 20 seconds I’ve never had it take that long. I don’t know if I just got a bad one or what. I spent probably an hour and a half on chat with a woman whom tried her best to help me but her English was so bad I had to repeatedly ask her to repeat herself. I never did get the problem solved.

Roku Problems

I purchased one of these this past summer while on sale. I didn't connect it until recently and it has been nothing, but problems. I contacted Roku...no answer back. Here is what I have experienced; sound just suddenly for no reason gets extremely loud, picture most of the time looks like it was filmed at night (dark), then all of a sudden it will brighten up to normal, but it will not hold that picture. When you are surfing for a movie to watch and stop and click on one to get info (story line) it will blink to a black screen a couple of times before it will hold the picture??? This unit has problems and they need to be recalled and replaced with a new unit without these problems. Oh, I have used it on a Sony and a Samsung TV sets not some off brand, same problems with two different name brand TVs...no, the Roku. AND I LOVE ROKU, PLEASE FIX.

New addition to our house!

We have been using Roku products for several years; we recently purchased a new TV, and due to its design, we were not able to use our Roku stick. With that said, we than purchased the Ultra, which not only fit perfectly, but the upgraded performance is a nice plus!

Annoying requests to reboot

I bought the Roku Ultra six months ago. Frustrated with Apple TV. When the Roku Ultra is working, it is fine, just like the Apple TV. Video and sound are excellent. On the other hand: The iPhone app is useless. The most irritating "feature" is that, every once in a while, I have to do a complete reset. Unplug the HDMI cables. unplug the TV, unplug the Roku Ultra. Plug in the HDMI cables... Really? This is so primitive. You can't build in an applet that resets everything? ls this the '70s? or what? The other annoying "feature" is the connection with the sound bar. Not sure whether this is a Roku problem or a Samsung problem. Either way, it is primitive. Hate all remotes that make you scroll through keyboards, letter by letter. Navigating through the various channels is often a pain. Why doesn't anyone make the user experience intuitive? Why doesn't the CEO demand excellence from his engineers? By that I mean designing for the customer, instead of putting band aids on the compatibility problems. I am sure there are reasons, but excellence is measured in performance, not "good enough."

I love Roku

I bought a ROKU 3 in 2013 because I no longer have cable but an outside antenna and I love it. My ROKU 3 lasted for over 10 years and I decided to get the ROKU ULTRA I was so happy when it downloaded all my apps on it's own during installation, I dreaded the thought of having to go through all those apps again but it did it automatically!! The voice command button is very convenient I still haven't gotten used to it but I like it a lot. My only complaint with this is in the middle of a program or show it shuts down and goes back to home screen. This is VERY annoying!! I did everything on my end to fix it after going online to the ROKU community but nothing worked. It still does it after checking system update and restarting it. This is very frustrating when I am watching something I can't replay. I have a 5G network with Spectrum for my internet so I can't imagine it being because of the internet, nothing else does this.

The Good and the Bad

Although the picture quality has improved from my previous version of the Ultra unit but this new unit is much more Annoying It’s sleep mode and power saving is Ridiculous every time it goes in these modes it switches input selection from MIDI 1 to MIDI 3 this is EXTREMELY ANNOYING. I’ve also considered RIKU CHANNEL but several time on several different days it freezes when a commercial comes on and requires you back out of the system and relaunch the ROKU app My overall experience with ROKU is Diminishing

Not all that great

I bought this because I have the less expensive Roku in my bedroom. I thought this would be a good buy. It was half off. I can't get my surround sound to sync up with the Roku picture no matter what I try so the people's voices are ahead of the picrure so I have to listen to any programs on my headphones. Also I have Sirius XM radio. I clicked on a music channel to listen to some music but now it won't let me go back to the Sirius menu to choose another channel, it is stuck on the one channel. I have searched the internet for help but can't find any solutions for either problem.
