Constant issues

I have 5 Roku streaming players. 3 of them are Ultra's. I recently purchased another Ultra which has more features than my older ones which include Dolby Vision and ATMOS. I wanted to take advantage of my recent Sonos sound system that I bought. What a mistake. The sound synchronization is always off and gets worse as you watch. I have tried everything. Tons of time and research into this issue has left me with no results. Screen blackouts is another issue. For no reason, switching channels on live TV will result in a blackout lasting up to ten seconds. This does not happen with every channel, but it happens daily. Why?? No clue. Power off???????? Does it actually work????? The new Terms and Conditions agreement is also a joke. I have bought my last Roku. I may actually give the ones I have away to family members and go with another brand.

3 Stars because of flashing issues

We have purchased 3 Roku units already. The Ultra was a favorite until it started causing the picture to flash on occasion. I’ve looked up how to resolve the issue but it never goes away completely. Maybe this is a general issue with streaming. This never happened until we switched from cable to streaming.

Great features!

We switched from Fire TV after many years and have been pleased with the ROKU. We haven't missed anything about the Fire TV box we were using, so that is a pretty good testament to the quality and ease of use of the ROKU. We enjoy having the tv volume controls on the ROKU remote.

good for streaming not user friendly

It can get all the streaming channels and the remote can control volume and TV power. Bought for a smart TV that has a faulty wireless card. It cannot access the tvs settings or sleep timer and it does not have a sleep timer function. This issue has been complained about for over 3 years with no update. Some companies never listen to their customers. I'll be steering away for future TV purchases so that I only ever require 1 remote.

Annoying requests to reboot

I bought the Roku Ultra six months ago. Frustrated with Apple TV. When the Roku Ultra is working, it is fine, just like the Apple TV. Video and sound are excellent. On the other hand: The iPhone app is useless. The most irritating "feature" is that, every once in a while, I have to do a complete reset. Unplug the HDMI cables. unplug the TV, unplug the Roku Ultra. Plug in the HDMI cables... Really? This is so primitive. You can't build in an applet that resets everything? ls this the '70s? or what? The other annoying "feature" is the connection with the sound bar. Not sure whether this is a Roku problem or a Samsung problem. Either way, it is primitive. Hate all remotes that make you scroll through keyboards, letter by letter. Navigating through the various channels is often a pain. Why doesn't anyone make the user experience intuitive? Why doesn't the CEO demand excellence from his engineers? By that I mean designing for the customer, instead of putting band aids on the compatibility problems. I am sure there are reasons, but excellence is measured in performance, not "good enough."

Roku Ultra

Works good. There's some things that need to be made better. For example. Playing music. Wish there was an option for sort by album. Right now the default is sorting by file name. For video and audio. Wish that you can skip a video or audio to the next file. That should have been standard.

Finally Great Streaming Experience

Bought this Roku to replace my Firestick. The streaming experience on this Roku device has been exceptional to say the least. No more buffering, dropping of stream. The remote is well made and has some nice features. Especially the earbuds to watch and not disturb anyone. So far my experience has been great and I highly recommend Roku!

Love my Roku devices...I have several.

This Roku Ultra is awesome. It has better wifi reception for my TV in a wifi challenged area of my house. It has eliminated my dropped signal issues. Love the rechargeable remote control...no more batteries. Have also used the earbuds with remote when my neighbors get too noisy. Also love the "What to Watch" on the menu screen. Overall just love Roku devices!

I love Roku

I bought a ROKU 3 in 2013 because I no longer have cable but an outside antenna and I love it. My ROKU 3 lasted for over 10 years and I decided to get the ROKU ULTRA I was so happy when it downloaded all my apps on it's own during installation, I dreaded the thought of having to go through all those apps again but it did it automatically!! The voice command button is very convenient I still haven't gotten used to it but I like it a lot. My only complaint with this is in the middle of a program or show it shuts down and goes back to home screen. This is VERY annoying!! I did everything on my end to fix it after going online to the ROKU community but nothing worked. It still does it after checking system update and restarting it. This is very frustrating when I am watching something I can't replay. I have a 5G network with Spectrum for my internet so I can't imagine it being because of the internet, nothing else does this.

Superior Product

We used another product for sometime. The people who install and update our Audio/Visual equipment recommended we switch to using Roku, saying it was a superior product AND that it was the only brand they installed. Their advice in the past has always been good, so they took everything else out and replaced it with Roku. Both my wife and I adapted quickly and are pleased with the utility of Roku. Wish we had done it sooner, but at least we’ve got the latest and greatest as of now! M
