All our laundry detergents are designed to provide good overall cleaning. Detergents help water to penetrate fabrics and then loosen dirt from them. They also suspend dirt in the water so it doesn't go back onto the fabric. It is possible the soil from the garments has redeposited on the fabric. Meg94, We're very sorry you had this experience. We could have helped you remove the residue without ripping your comforter. We have remedies for that as well as for the staining. Any colorants we use are water soluble and will come out again. Here are some tips to make sure that doesn't happen to you again. Always add the PODS™ to the drum before you add the items you are going to wash. Additionally, do not overload or wash too many absorbent items in a single load. Washing a large item, like a comforter, in too small of washer drum, can cause overloading, which means there isn't enough water for the PODS™ to dissolve and distribute.
