- 5 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchase8/7/2026Well designed with many features that Honda has. Digital gas gauge, hrs electric load etc. is nice. I have a Honda 2000 watt peak generator and this Westinghouse 5000 is just as quiet as my Honda. It is heavy, but as expected. I love the dual fuel. Fired right up on propane!
Surprisingly Quiet

Great so far
EJ30Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review8/21/2026This is our second Westinghouse Generator. We were so happy with our first one that we decided (when it was time for a second smaller one) to go right back to Westinghouse again. We have tested it but haven't had to use it as of yet. While testing everything went smoothly. My husband commented on the fact that it was very quiet for a generator of this size. And we had it on the rock encased front porch where normally everything echoes and resounds. Silent? By no means, but definitely quieter than we expected.

KCAugustineOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review8/30/2026Just bought this generator after reviewing other types/models. My friend has this same model and highly recommended it to me. The true test will be in a couple of weeks when I use it at base camp for my upcoming Elk hunt in Colorado. I'll be at 10,000 FASL - Hope it doesn't need to be jetted to run better at this level -- will check into. Will repost a review following the hunt . . . .
Great Features and was delivered expeditiously.
Detroit Mane-iacOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review9/7/2026I have attached it to a propane tank. It started right up, ran good, and worked as it should. We will need to see how it holds up long-term. The first impression is that I'm pleased with it. This generator has wheels and a collapsible handle which makes it portable. It comes with the oil needed (0.6 liter) and a small tool kit and a battery charger. The power outlets are 120 volt 20 amp and a 120 volt 30 amp
Good generator

- 5 out of 5 stars review8/8/2026Bought this generator in August of 2026 for boondock camping in my travel trailer and also as an emergency backup for my home in case of extended power outages if needed. So far so good. Quality generator that is comparable to Honda and Onan. Westinghouse's reputation speaks for itself. Curious to see how many years I'll get out of it with proper maintenance.
Quality generator
Onepride509Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review8/9/2026I’ve been using my Westinghouse iGen5000DFc for a few weeks now, sometimes for short runs and other times for 1–2 hour sessions, and it has been rock‑solid every time. No overheating, no hiccups, no strange behavior — just smooth, consistent performance. I run it exclusively on propane, and at around 50% load it powers everything I need on my trailer without any trouble. I can run the A/C, the refrigerator, the battery charger, and even a small electric appliance like a toaster, all at once, with zero drop in power and no signs of strain. The generator runs cleanly and steadily on propane, and the remote start has worked every single time, even after sitting unused for several days. That convenience alone makes a big difference. - 5 out of 5 stars review8/15/2026I purchased this about a montha go and have used it a few times now. I really like it. It provides stable power for my RV and is amazingly quiet. It is quite heavy, but still worth purchasing. I would highly recommend!
Terrific RV Generator
sumbargeOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review6/15/2026I purchased this for my home as we lose power often and I have multiple refrigerators & freezers full of food. It has been a great purchase. It's so easy to set up, start, connect and power everything I need. Super quiet and efficient. Love the Eco feature.......
Great purchase! Wish I'd have bought years ago!
svk3341Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review6/11/2026I have just bought this generator and have not run it very long. However it did arrive neatly packaged with very clear instructions and flags on the machine to help with the initial start up. Once I added the motor oil and connected the starter battery, it started right up with the push of a button. The unit has nice operation panel and easy to read gauges. The unit weighs about 100 pounds but has robust handles for lifting and and extending pull bar that allows for easy wheeling and movement of the unit on its two wheels. So far, so good.
Great First Impressions
Carolina FergusOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review6/8/2026Bought this for my camper but haven’t had a chance to run on it yet. I have started it and ran a few tools around the house to break it in and so far so good. The build quality is really nice and it’s super quiet. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a fair priced quiet generator.
Really nice for the money
TalleyWackerOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review5/31/2026I bought this after owning a champion, and im never looking back. This is by far a better buy in every way. Its super quiet, like im impressed and it doesn't sound like its winding hard to generate the power in eco mode. Im super excited to get out and go camping. And it has a ton of power.
Excited!
SnubbssOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review8/20/2026So far so good! Some of the instructions aren't super clear. And draining the oil is a bit tricky. But starts and runs and does what its supposed to do!IGEN5000DFc GeneratorOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com
- 4 out of 5 stars review5/20/2026I recently purchased this generator and overall I’m very satisfied with its performance. It starts easily, runs smoothly, and provides reliable power during outages and outdoor use. The fuel efficiency is good, and the noise level is lower than I expected for a generator in this category.
Great features!
sharrissOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 3 out of 5 stars review9/13/2021I bought this about a month ago and just began to use it. It’s suffers from the same problem most people have out of the box with the choke issue. I’m debating on whether or not to return it and start all over again but I fear that I will end up having this problem as most do. You would think that by now they would have solve this issue since it’s a clear manufacturing production defect. Still powers everything great. I don’t truly regret it I just wish this thing would run the way that it supposed to without having to need to return it orDo the work myself to correct the problem. I feel I should be giving some sort of discount for having to deal with this
Runs awful out of the box
Dean w.Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 3 out of 5 stars review8/12/2026Performs as needed, ie RV air conditioner, microwave, etc. Don't like that the toggle on/off switch is lighted when in the on position. Leaving the switch in the on position so remote start can be used from the RV drains the battery when generator is not in use. Having to set the toggle in the on position prior to each start negates the value of the remote start function.
Functional. Wish it were lighter.
