Perfect for remote cabin

I received the generator as an early Christmas present from my husband. It was bought to replace a noisy gas powered generator for our remote cabin. The dual fuel capabilities as well as the quietness were my requirements. On another note, the generator itself is heavy, but the telescoping handle makes it easy to roll around. AS I have just received the generator, I have not put it through any rigorous use.

Can't beat it!

We bought this generator because our power is often shut off when there is a risk of a fire starting in our area. We wanted dual fuel with an inverter. This generator fit the bill. It's also quiet. It has some nice features, such as battery or manual start. We feel confident that this generator will meet our needs the next time our power shuts off!

Great Generator

I'm giving this review to get the free generator cover. With that said, after putting oil in the generator this thing started right up with the pull start, electric start, and remote start off of propane fuel. Fuel. I did a test run on my 30-ft sport Trek camper with no problems. So far so good

Shocked, It's So Quiet.

The iGen 4500 DFc-dual fuel generator, compared to 2 other generators I own, is very quiet. The others are a high and loud, almost shrill sound. This one is low and I can easily hear a conversation if I'm only 7 feet away. I especially like the remote start/off. It's just a really nice feature. I will only be using Propane, which creates a lower output, but worth not having the gumming situation which occurs with gas. My wife liked the encased blue look of it, which she says looks nice. I think it helped me convince her of the purchase price. (wink)

Quiet

Took a while to get in stock and then waited a couple of days and it was out again. Fortunately I received an email notifying me that they were back in stock and ordered right away. I picked it up and setup in pretty short order as I was familiar from researching and watching some of the video on line. Using propane it started on the second try. The engine loped a bit at first but settled down once it warmed up a bit. seemed to handle a load OK I haven't tested it on anything other than a heat gun and some fans. Waiting to get my RV back (if I ever do) from Forest river who've had it for over three months before I can try it on that. Surprisingly quiet, I don't think the videos accurately depict the noise. Mine seems to be much more quiet than what I expected from the videos.

Came with schematics and valve adjustment guide

The generator is super quiet, and very powerful. It powered my 1200W widow AC unit and still showed 0% on the capacity Guage! I plugged in an air fryer instead and then it showed 10% go figure. I used the 30A outlet, and heavy duty cord adapted to fit household plug. Overall, extremely satisfied with this high quality and dependable generator.

iGen4500DF

Bought the 4500DF based on needs and reviews for my RV. Much quieter than my previous gen, so I don't need to put it in a sound retardant box. comparable to the db ratings of the Hondas. So far no complaints, works great. Wife likes the remote start, she doesn't need to leave RV in the AM when I'm not there. opted for the dual fuel version to have a second source of fuel, on the chance we run low on gasoline. The 3year warranty is a nice perk, and fairly priced. If your looking to compare, the Cummins/Onan p4500i is similar.

Excellent generator for travel trailer

I purchased this Igen4500df to power our travel trailer when camping in remote location. This generator will run my total trailer from Eco mode using propane as fuel supply. The AC is 13500 btu. It is very quiet. I am very pleased with it's performance. The digital display is excellent and accurate.

Very happy with the dual fuel

I needed a generator that would support our new travel trailer and found the iGen4500DF at a competitive price with positive reviews. The generator was well packed and arrived quickly without any damage or signs of shipping stress. The setup was very straight forward and happened without any issues. I connected it to a propane tank and it started up right away. I ran the generator for a few hours as part of the 5 hour break in period and was very pleased with the performance and low noise levels. I could easily have a conversation with someone while standing next to the generator while it was running. So far my experience has been perfect from purchase through setup.

iGen4500DF Out-of-Box First Impression

First impression of the outer box is that it was a bit light weight and I was in for some broken parts as the banding straps had cut deep into the cardboard. Opened the box to find the battery door was not attached, the battery was hanging out of the battery compartment, and the battery hold down strap near the oil fill plug. Good news is none of the parts were damaged, but reinstalling the battery hold down strap and battery is a bit tight for adult hands. Filled up with oil using the provided oil and screw in funnel, with no issues. Hooked up the propane line to the regulator and then the generator with no issues. (Generator came with a tool kit, so no need to go to the toolbox.) Turned on the propane, pressed the ON/OFF button and within a couple revolutions it was running and more quiet than I had anticipated. Ran for an hour with 1K load no issues. Have not tested with the 15K RV AC unit yet. Only real negatives were the condition of packaging, parts dislodged in transit, and the battery and oil fill access panels a bit too small for adult hands.
