Brand New

I just unboxed and the instructions were very clear to set this unit up. We filled the oil, connected the battery and hooked up the propane and with the push of a button, it fired right up. This generator is very quiet without any load and I'm sure will be similarly quiet with a load. We are ready to go camping in the middle of nowhere now!

iGen 4500DF

Still trying it out but I like all the features, some things are not well thought out, doing an oil change requires trying to get your hand in a small opening and around a large wire to work with the oil plug, the opening could be bigger and better placed to allow easier access to the plug, accessing the larger panel by loosening several screws that can be removed with a screwdriver but the last is a bolt that requires a 10 mm socket, why not just make them all screws, hope there is nothing else as I use it on my RV, overall it is very good.

Looks Great

I have seen many reviews and compared this model with the Champion 4650. I decided to go with this one. It has not disappointed so far. Only downside was it took 3 weeks to get to my house do to the carrier held it for 2 weeks at the local facility. None of Westinghouse's fault.

It was great when it worked but....

I bought this in November for a boat move from Albany, New York to St. Pete, Florida. We used it at night to power lights and charge electronics. 2 days in tot the trip it stopped working. We couldn't get it started. Finally did. It stopped working again 4 days later. We had to stop to take it apart layer by layer to clean all the components, put it back together and pray. It id start again but quit when the mate overfilled the oil. Taken apart again.... good thing we are handy! Also, the exhaust is HORRIBLE ~ very black and oily! I vented over the deck but the transom and side of the boat were black by the third night. I would probably buy this again though... it was quiet and effective enough to to power 3 people and a 36' boat needs.

Great Features

Only had this for 2 days and have only run it for a few hours on my RV. So far so good. Starts easily whether its the push button, pull cord or the remote. Runs quiet. Plenty of power so far for my needs. Anxious to see how it does when the temps get hotter and I have to use the AC. I'm sure it will perform well.

New purchase

I just purchased the iGen4500 DF a few days ago and haven't had a chance to really check it out. I did connect it to a propane tank, followed the starting instructions and it fired right up and ran great. I am looking forward to testing it more fully in the coming weeks. So far, so good!

Strong First Impressions

We unboxed and started it up for the first time with propane. It took a few tries to start the first time. I had read about this, so I rechecked my propane connections and tried a few more times, but it started up and was easy to stop and restart from there. We have not put it to heavy use yet, but it seems well built and meets my expectations with noise, fit, and finish. The sound output is like being at a little distance from a quiet lawnmower. In Eco mode, it was significantly quieter (with a low load, I haven't pushed it hard yet). It does sound like a small engine running, but I'm very happy with that. I also found running an engine on propane to be a very pleasant experience compared to gas, with far fewer fumes. I researched this unit for a long time before buying, and I am seeing exactly what I expected so far.

So far mostly good, it started right up on propane

Happy with the purchase it replaces a Coleman 5000 which was very loud, this one is very quiet. My only issue is the side panel on the carb side does not sit flush if there was a screw instead of a post in that spot it would be perfect but it hits the carb and pushes it out slight. Only cosmetic so it can be lived with.

Duel Fuel is the way to go

We just received this generator in preparation for the camping season. I put in the oil, hooked up the battery, and followed the rest of the prep instructions and it fired right up first try. I let it run in my garage for 5-6 hours in -10 degrees and it did not have any issues. It's fairly quiet without a load, we will see once we get it hooked up to the camper. I am confident this will run all my appliances with some to spare and costs a fraction of the red one we were looking at.

I NEED SOME HELP!!!! PROBLEM WITH THE GENERATOR

I BOUGHT THIS INVESTOR IN JUNE AND I HAVE SOME PROBLEMS: 1. When I turn on the generator I have to press the start button twice or three times in both mode (GAS/Propain) to start. 2. When I connect a 12BTU (9.5 Amp) AC UNIT and then try to connect a fridge the inverter turns off, the amp consumption does not reach 18amps and the Overload Light never turn it on. WHAT CAN I DO, WHAT COULD I CHECK? SPARK, CARBURATOR?
