I so wanted to love this generator and it has turned out to be such a bad experience right out of the box. I was excited when this generator arrived just in time for our upcoming camping trips. I read the manual from cover to cover to make sure I followed all instructions prior to start-up and to run the suggested break-in procedures. First issue - As soon as I put fuel in the generator for the first time it came pouring out of the bottom of the generator. Thank goodness I hadn't started it yet, as the fuel screw in the bottom of the carburetor float bowl was missing and fuel what just pouring out. I called the support number and got my first case number. I explained that we had bought the generator for our upcoming weekend camping trip and was emailed the next day that if we need to use the generator to go to the hardware store and buy a 6mm or 8mm screw for the missing carburetor drain screw. Unfortunately, a standard machine screw doesn't stop the gas from entering the drain tube. I have emailed back and forth a few times with videos of each step and they have a new part headed my way. Unfortunately, it is going to be a 10-day delivery. The email responses from the tech team have been timely. At this point, I have still not been able to start the generator. Second issue - Since I still had to perform the break-in procedure, I decided to run the break-in on propane. As soon as I fire up the generator I notice the display/control center showing power output and total run time was completely dead. I was planning on using it for the break-in load and to monitor the break-in time but it didn't work at all. Now I have a second case number for a dead display/control center. Third issue - After I run the suggested break-in cycle and went to disconnect the propane and the fitting completely came out of the front of the generator. I didn't even torque the propane hose in at all! I will now have to email the tech team on one of my previous cases to report this issue. I have now owned the generator for 2 weeks have at least 2 different case numbers and three different manufacturing defects. I have now missed using the generator on both my camping trips. I am beyond disappointed in the IGen 4500DF experience right out of the box. I have included a couple of pictures of the issues so far. I also have several videos I have taken along the way but can't figure out how to upload them at the moment. I have requested a call back on these issues and hope to get these issues resolved soon.

I got this product right after Hurricane Helene swept through. Like many in our area of western North Carolina we had no power or phones for over 2 weeks. This is a real workhorse, and the dual fuel feature is especially appreciated. Good job Westinghouse!

I researched a lot of generators to make sure that it could run my RV AC without issue. I have used the generator a few times with the RV and had no problems - it is nowhere near its max output capacity. I also purchased this to make sure the food in my home refrigerators did not spoil if there was an extended power outage. This unit has some great features not normally found on others, such as the power output, run time meter, and dual fuel. I especially like that I can run the unit with propane since the tanks are easy to transfer and I have a few of them around the house already. The battery start is also a nice touch that makes firing up the generator a breeze.

Really like this inverter generator it's my first electric starter. Like the dual fuel setup. Starts quick in15degree weather. The only complaint I have is the opening to change the oil is to small to get my hand in to take the dipstick out and put it back in spent about 1/2 hour to add the oil, you need to make that opening bigger I know I'm not the only person with big hands. That's is my only complaint.

Normally I would have left 5 stars because I initially loved this generator. It was so compact, powerful, and easy to crank. And who wouldn't love that remote control cutoff? However, after owning it for like two weeks, we noticed that if the battery for the remote start ran down, we couldn't even crank it by hand. Isn't that the purpose of a generator? To generate power when there is none? Needless to say that's been frustrating. Then my pull cord snapped in two. It's January. We got this thing in like November. So I think I got a lemon. But I'm optimistic that this is an unusual case and that it'll get better.

This was purchased for back up home power. It was relatively easy to set up once I got it unpacked. Fed Ex left it at the wrong gate and getting it onto the property was difficult because it is quite heavy, and awkward to move in such a large box, over gravel path instead of driveway. Nice that the unit came with the oil needed to fill the unit. Would have been helpful to know approximately how much oil to put in (almost the whole container) instead of just warning not to overfill and to stop frequently to check with dip stick. Started on first try with propane, so nice that it came with a charged battery. Battery installation was not easy; had to remove battery to do the quick release connection and the rubber strap would not connect to hold it back in place, I had to use wire to attach the strap to its hooks in the back.

I have a total of 15 hours on my new generator. I ran in for about 7 hours on propane and it worked great! I switched it to gasoline and it ran for about 8 hours. Just as I went to bed, the generator started sputtering and then died. Now it only turns over for 2 second or so. There's plenty of fuel. I've tried starting it approximately 50 times - it's a manual start only with no luck. I'm now sitting in a dark travel trailer with no power and 33% battery life on my phone - it's supposed to be below 30 tonight. The instruction manual only has basic steps like add more fuel and push the reset button. I even used 89 octane fuel. Highly disappointed!

I bought this generator immediately following the western NC hurricane. All I had to do was add the oil, connect the battery and push the start button. The generator powered my RV for almost 4 weeks without a single issue. This was my sole source of power until main power was restored to the area.

A dual fuel inverter generator with a remote! This is the ONLY unit I have found that delivers all of those features in one generator. I am THRILLED this finally came into the market. I preordered it in October and waited almost 3 months for its official debut. Worth the wait. I am a mobile groomer who uses a generator every day and NEED all of these features. Its quiet, convenient and reliable.

I purchased this generator after a two day power outage. I look at other manufacture but Westinghouse had the best review and was still in my price range. I order it on Apr 6 and hit arrive 11 April. I decided to not let in run with not load for a few hours and did a oil change. The generator is super quiet i had it on my back deck and could barely hear it in my living room. I know this is the first day having this generator but so far i am glad i purchased this brand.
