I have a Samsung sound bar and satellite speakers and subwoofer package. It's been approximately six months now. I paired it with a Samsung 65 inch smart television for best results. I found out of the box the system was not user friendly in setting up. The digital screen inside the sound bar is not easy to see and the set up was challenging. The Samsung TV was finally paired with the sound system and I chose the things I wanted the sound to do. I now find that watching TV that the sound to TV time is off. I usually shut down and restart the TV to help with this but it still is noticeable. It's like watching an old Kungfu movie with the lip syncing off experience. The system is suppose to pair and work automatically but it's obvious something is not right. I purchased this system over my last SONO system that we had and truthfully feel the SONO brand actually sounded better. Not sure how to explain that any other way. I just hated the fact SONO screwed up by expired tech that made us update the system after a period of time. Not cool. But the jury is still out on this system. So far, it's average.

Dolby atoms effect is spectacular! Be it movies, sports or listening to just music you will never miss a single detail of the sound. The rear speakers does an amazing job in creating a surround effect. I have some other brands sound system at my home but, this one really stands out. After plugging in the power dor the sub, two satellite speakers and the soundbar (power and HDMI), I was off and running! I set the soundbar and my TV to eARC and started enjoying theater quality sound! I find that this system is immersive without just power a ton of sound at you. It is restrained surround sound. It's powerful and balanced without overpowering the front end soundbar. The up-firong speakers really provide the depth of sound and complete the experience!

At first, I was skeptical about the sound quality as I have been a long time customer of Bose and Sony sound system. But Wow, the sound quality and sync rate of Q990D beats it's rivals. Though I purchased this system for home theater system, I often connect it to my audio device to listen classical music. It is awesome. I highly recommend. Good job Samsung.

Samsung pushed an update that bricked a large number of these soundbars including mine. It is very disappointing that multiple outlets have reported on this issue without an official response from Samsung. I expected better from this company. The issue is so big that it prevents any updating via USB. It may require a mass recall of these devices and an extended lead time for repair.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am hearing impaired and purchase this device several month ago with the hopes that it would help me to better understand what people are saying in shows. Not only have I no longer needed to completely rely on closed captions now, but I was absolutely blown away by how clear everything sounds, from background sounds to dialogue. For movies, the audio sounds exactly as I would have imagined the audio engineers wanted the movie to sound. Even with the dialogue enhancing turned off, can still hear everything perfectly. The background sounds realistic and transports me into the movie. For music, I wasnt expecting a major difference, however even here it excels in ways I never even realized music could sound. Additionally, setting the rear speaks to 'Sound Grouping' makes the music perfect for everyone in the room to hear at an even level no matter where you are. The only isue I have is that I can no longer go to the movie theaters because the sound quaity there is awful in comparison to this system.

Purchased this system because when got the one below the sub woofer did not had enough power. Was told this one was a higher model and much better. For the price and what it was the sub woofer did not really had that much power. It wasn't worth the price. Ended up returning it.

I purchased the Sonos Arc Ultra first to hear it in my space, which is a big open two story family room. It was good sound but underwhelming. So I returned it and purchased the Q990D. Maaaan, when I tell you this thing fills the room. The sound quality is superb. We hosted a NFC east championship party and everyone kept asking about the speakers. The sound was hitting from every angle in the room. Not sure why people say they need more bass. The floor was thumping. I'm very much satisfied with the Q990D. Highly recommend it. 5 stars all day, every day!
