Very simple to operate. Followed the simple instructions and first started and ran it with propane . I then filled the gas tank and it fired right up and ran just the same. I researched a lot of generators before I decided on a Westinghouse. What sold me on this one was the duel fuel and electric start.This unit also is a lot quieter than others I have used. Seems like a good product.

I bought this generator last month due to hurricane season vastly approaching. Well we had a tropical storm come through the area and we lost power. Luckily I had this generator and a propane tank we used for our gas grill. I didn’t have any gas because my wife filled the lawn mower so having the dual fuel capability came in handy and saved the night.

I just got this product today! It was easy to put together and it came with oil and j out gas in it. Took it out side and the start button is awesome. It took a few tries to get the fluids going but it stopped and then restarted on its on which is a nice feature. I live the remote start and push button start! Very user friendly!

Bought to prepare for 2024 FL Hurricane season. Easy to set up (this first generator purchase). Includes everything you need. Reasonable price and good value. Hefty weight (2-person lift) but built well; solid construction. Just enough receptacles for my needs. No wheels or handle; optional purchase. I am using semi-permanent configuration on flat platform push cart (purchased separately). Frame size is convenient as standard for this class. No complaints.

Haven't used it yet, but finally got it to turn on using propane only. The choke seems tricky to get it right. We ended up flooding it while trying to start it so many times, but it finally started by turning the propane completely off, but then it died again. We got it started three times by playing with the choke feature. Unfortunately, I am an older female and I do not have the strength to pull the "lawn mower" type start cord strong enough to start it. If it weren't for the two gentlemen who helped me set it up, it would have never gotten started with just me. Otherwise, it looks like a nice model. It's super loud, though. I will need to have a man come over to start it in case of a hurricane, and to move it away from the back of the house.

After Hurricane Helene we decided to buy this generator and I’m very satisfied with a purchase other than the fact that the wheels do not come with the generator. There are also are no instructions on how to buy them. Wheels shouldn’t be that expensive that they should be added into the price of this product.

I just bought the WGen5300DFc unit. This is the second one I bought, the first one was a WGen5300cv and was damaged in shipping and that model came with the feet and wheel assembly. This one didn't. Concidering the size and weight you would think that would be a standard item. The Remote Battery starter was one of the main reason I ordered the unit. I am happy with the product so far but I haven't use it yet. The amount of power provided is more that enough to run the most important items of my house in the event of power outage.

This unit has a clean sharp look and delivers a lot of bang for the buck. Love the propane option that lets me quickly respond to short-term power outages (2-9 hours) …just connect a propane bottle and fire it up. I like not having to worry about treating, draining or wasting left over gasoline, but the gas option is nice for more economical operations during long term multi-day power outages. This unit provides enough power to keep a 2000 square foot house in lights, plus run a few smaller appliances such as TV equipment, freezers, refrigerators, microwave and maybe a single burner on your electric cook stove. Not for operation of Central Heat & Air, large electric water heaters, dryers, ovens etc. Buy a bigger unit if you want to power those. I like that it is not too large so I can move it in place with confidence. Also stores nicely in smaller spaces unlike the larger models. A nice surprise was that it wasn’t as loud as I was expecting. Cons; This unit should have come with the Digital Data Center that provides real-time updates on maintenance information as many other Westinghouse models do, especially at this price. Shipping condition was unacceptable. As others have complained, my unit arrived and the box was in decent shape. But when I opened it, I found damage to the generator in three places. Two big dents on the frame and one on the control panel. I decided to keep it and work on the damage because these units have been hard to find. There should be an easy fix for this. Perhaps more packing material or better handling practice. For the life of me, I don’t understand why this is still a problem.

Generator arrived on a truck. I am 77 years old. Asked the driver to put the generator in my garage. He said against company policy. He sat the generator 2 inches from inside my garage. Big problem for me. Generator very low to the ground and hard to find the switches. Did not come with wheels to roll. Had to purchase them separately and install. Would not have purchased this type generator if I had known it was so low to the ground.

My son helped with the set up but I asked to start it and it started on the first pull. Had to use it a couple of months after my purchase in June 2023. The power was out for 48-72 hours, I was glad I made the purchase! I also like that one can use gas or propane for fuel.
