Out of the box, the generator was missing the instructions / Quick Start guide, so that was a bit confusing. Once I read through the documentation online, I encountered two problems: 1) The generator's electric start was non-functional. This is a huge bummer because I had hoped to have this hooked up to my house's propane supply, and transfer switch, so I could start it with a few button presses from inside as opposed to having to go outside in the rain. 2) The AC power produced by the unit is INSANELY 'dirty'. I'm not surprised it isn't perfect, but I am a bit upset that my inverter-charger, which is very tolerant of things, seems to be unable to charge from this thing appropriately. :( Even plugging in a basic, plain old desk fan to this unit causes the desk fan to become noisy and groan weirdly. At least the support person I spoke with was fairly nice, so that's a plus. Hopefully if they're able to resolve my issues I can revise this review!

The wife bought me this generator for my early Christmas present! This 5300DF genny is by far the best bang for your buck. Fires up on the first pull and works perfectly. I also have a Westinghouse 3200 PSI pressure washer that I have use hard for 4 years. It still fores on one pull and has not had any issues. I am a big fan of Westinghouse for outdoor power equipment.

I bought this to back up our 1500 squarefoot home in conjuction with a mechanical interlock. I love being able to use propane which can be stored much longer and more conveniently than gasoline. I use propane already for our BBQ so now I will just have a couple more containers.....just in case. Great product, hopefully it will stand the test of time.

Small dent in frame on arrival. Bottom of box must have collapsed under the weight. The box was not sturdy enough for the weight of the machine. After the bottom gave out, the box had been turned on its side and the bottle of oil crunched. Wheel kit was fast and easy to install. Seems like a sturdy and well made product despite not being packed for individual delivery. It ought to have been sent on a small pallet with some light straps.

Bought this product after buying another brand and returning it because it would not start on propane. Company offered to send new regulators, but Home Depot's 30 day return policy was about the end boxed it up and ordered this 5300DFc. Hooked up propane bottle, it fired right up. Running it now for the 5 hour break-in period think I have a better generator which is a little larger & was the exact same price. Glad other one would not start & run on propane.

So far I love this generator it has the best features. It started on the first try with the remote control and with the push button. That was one of the reasons I choose this model. Its more than enough power to run the things I need to when the power is out. Where I live the power goes out a lot with every storm. The last time was the last straw so I decide to get this generator. So if you're looking for something that is easy to start, plenty of power, and duel gas this is the one for you without breaking the bank

This generator is perfectly sized for our needs. I want to be able to have heat, water, and a functioning refrigerator when the power goes out, and this will efficiently do this for us. The dual fuel option allows us to be better prepared for longer outages without having to worry about going to the gas station every day or so. I took off one star because the packaging on this item is completely inadequate for shipping to the consumer. There is no padding between the heavy generator and the cardboard. This arrived dented in multiple places, with the cardboard ripped because of rubbing and impact. We would have exchanged it, but this model is impossible to find in stock right now. We tested it, and it seems to run fine, I hope the shipping impacts didn't cause any hidden damage that will show up after the return and warranty periods are up. Fantastic item, but Westinghouse should package it better.

Received this generator the same day we had a 19-hour outage! Interesting timing. Easy to set up. Ran on propane. I used the manual pull to start it the first time. Only took 2 pulls to get it running. Very impressive. I am using it only to run my well-pump. When the pump kicked in, the generator RPM slowed a bit for about a second, but it ran flawlessly for an hour before normal power returned. Tomorrow I'll be testing the remote control. I don't plan on using gas.

i just bought this generator last week. I unpacked it and followed the directions in the manual which were easy to follow. I hooked it up to a propane cylinder and it cranked right up. I was impressed with how quiet it was. I bought this generator because of the dual fuel capability. I plan to use the generator while camping and for power outages at my home.

I bought this generator because of the surprise power shut downs in my city. Having this generator provides such a sensed of security. I am not a large woman let alone strong, however this generator provides ease as a move it around and I am very comfortable pulling the cable. I did a lot of research before buying this unit and I am very happy with my decision.
