So far so good, manual a little confusing

We've only used it a couple times to far but it's been great and seems super well built. The manual is confusing, though. It doesn't really follow any logical progression and an "initial setup" section that's super thorough and detailed would have been helpful as this is our first generator and we're starting from scratch as far as generator knowledge goes.

Dual fuel is very handy

I bought this my WGen5300dfv a week ago. I am still in the use and warm up period bur have had no problems. It runs perfectly on propane but I haven't ran it on unleaded yet. I bought it for emergency sump pump backup. After a yr or so I'll update this review. I don't expect issues. It runs smooth and is a touch quieter than my last one which was a little smaller than the Westinghouse.

Easy setup easy to use, and great looking

Bought this for winter use, and camping. It fired right up outa the box. Be sure to charge the battery, it only comes with enough juice for 1 start with the push button. It's a perfect machine for what we need. Propane use is a total game changer!!! Stoked!!

Using Propane-Easy to Start

I bought it 2 weeks ago to go with the travel trailer we are using. An electrical engineer friend of mine taught me that "Amps X Voltage = watts drawn....With a 30 AMP plug, that means my trailer has a maximum draw of 3600 watts. This unit has 4800 running watts on propane so we can run both the air conditioner and the micro and not tax the generator!!!!!. The unit started the first time and it has a 30 Amp plug that fits right into our trailer plug.. I would suggest the following:1. On the first time, run the unit without a load for 1 1/2 hours and then change the oil. This assures that any assembly particles in the engine gets removed at the outset. 2. If you use propane (I recommend for a whole alotta reasons), get some teflon tape from your hardware store and use it on the male connectors for the propane hoses. Makes screwing on much easier and assures no leaks . All in All, I am very satisfied :-)

Great generator

So far I love this generator it has the best features. It started on the first try with the remote control and with the push button. That was one of the reasons I choose this model. Its more than enough power to run the things I need to when the power is out. Where I live the power goes out a lot with every storm. The last time was the last straw so I decide to get this generator. So if you're looking for something that is easy to start, plenty of power, and duel gas this is the one for you without breaking the bank

Great Features

The main reason I bought this was because of the duel Fuel. I wanted something in the event of a power outage that would be large enough to run the essential things needed in the house. It Also make a nice addition when working out on the property, allowing me to use my corded tools when I need them. Propane is easy to store, transport and has a long shelf life. One downfall was the mounting brackets for the wheels were bent when I received it. I had read other reviews and notice this to be a problem, maybe not on the manufacture but for sure on the shipping company. When you pay this type of money for a product you expect it to be in perfect shape when you receive it. In all I am satisfied with the generator and would recommend it.

Perfect for my needs

We just had a 12-hour power outage thanks to hurricane Zeta and I'd finally had enough of hoping our fridge and chest freezer full of food wouldn't spoil every time we have a major outage so I shopped around and selected this Westinghouse. I especially like the dual fuel so I can get started with my spare propane tanks which never spoil. For long outages, I can go get gas or use the 20 gallons from my truck. It's not as large or heavy as I expected which is great. The fold-out handle makes it much easier to move than I thought it would be. Very easy to set up, filled with oil, connected battery, hooked up to LP tank and it fired right up. Much quieter than I expected as well, though certainly far from silent. I like all the options 120/240V, transfer switch ready, push-button start/stop, remote start/stop. I do NOT look forward to using it during the next power outage, but I do feel much better knowing I have a solid power source for when it does happen.

Worked great on propane, but…

The generator worked flawlessly on propane, but after switching to gasoline it leaks like a sieve from the carburetor. I assumed it was a dirty needle valve, so took off the carb and cleaned it, but still have the leak. Will submit this to the Westinghouse support for further fixes.

Outstanding

Purchase just a few days ago and got it started on gasoline today. Will try propane another day. Initially could not find the remote start. Finally discovered it attached to the pull start handle. Stated right up without a hitch with electric start and remote start. Very pleased with this generator.

Complete Package

Just received this item. Doing initial procedures now in anticipation of 2022 hurricane season. This generator will be dedicated to the operation of a well pump. I'm very much looking forward to the use of the remote starter, and will update this review as soon as I am able.
