We bought this generator for backup power in the event of an extended power outage. We bought it because it was well reviewed, affordable, and has dual-fuel plus electric start. We also had a power inlet box installed outside, and an interlock installed on the electrical panel for whole house use. I unboxed it today, installed the wheel kit, and tested it out. It started right up on both propane and gasoline fuel. I even connected to our panel and ran the house on generator power for a short while. It will certainly be helpful in the event of a power outage.

I was looking for a home backup generator and the wgen5300dfc had the options i was looking for,floating neutral, dual fuel, remote start and electric start. i ordered the wheel kit separately and now i am able to plug directly into my house transfer switch. i ran it to put break in hours on it and am now ready if i get more power outages .

I live in upstate NY and the winters here are known to be brutal sometimes. In recent years we lost power few times and even though it did not last for weeks at a time like in other parts of the country it lasted long enough to make my house cold enough to make it impossible to tolerate. But that is a think of the past since I bought this Westinghouse generator. The price was great (even for my limited resources), it come well packaged with no damage, it took me only ten minutes to assemble it and it started with just three pulls of the cord even for the first time ever. Even the noise level was lower that I expected and I don't have to apologize to my neighbors when I run the unit for hours. Very happy with it so far.

Control panel components conveniently located, remote start a plus. It would've been nicer if it included wheels and a handle since it isn't really portable without them. Instructions are surprisingly detailed and easy to follow. Especially helpful to include schematics. We chose this model specifically for the dual fuel feature. We haven't had the opportunity to really test it out so don't know how well it runs yet.

I live in central New Jersey and even though power outages are rare I can not live without my sump pump working. This can handle the pump, refrigerator and more. It runs fairly quiet on the propane and now I found a use for it as power to my shed so I don't have to drag my other machines into my garage for maintenance.

Box was a little beat up but the generator was perfect, It took 5 min to unbox install wheels connect batter and hook it up to propane, It started right up using the push button electric start and powered a few things in the garage, it is much quieter than my old unit and I look forward to many years of service from it. duel fuel feature is a must for me and I would recommend it to anyone needing a new one. Buy American whenever Possible IMO

Bought this the day before Beryl hit Texas. Easy to set up and use, powered a 14k BTU A/C unit and Fridge with icemaker, as well as some lights and phone charging. So grateful to have bought it when I did! Ran both Propane and Gasoline, and it worked great. Wish it was a little more powerful, so I could run the house on it.

I just purchased this portable generator yesterday to use as back up power for my home. Power seems to go out frequently during storms and I'm tired of renting a motel room. The cost to set this up out weighs having to spend the night elsewhere.I'm liking that this is a dual duel generator and the size is great as where it will be set up is perfect!

I just rercieved this and look forward to using it. I have a 100 gallon propane tank ordered so we don't have to mess with gas in a hot generator. I also have a electrician coming to install a transfer switch. Didn't receive the remote FOB in package

I picked up one of these to keep the freezer and fridge running during the rare power outage that lasts more than a few hours, I hope to get several years of use out of it. I picked this one because of the small size and dual fuel options not to forget the remote start options as well.
