[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Taking it out of the box, I admit I wasn't expecting much with how small the soundbar is. I am glad to say that I was wrong with my first impression. While incredibly thin, this soundbar produced amazing sound and bass with the included subwoofer. Everything from music to movies to TV shows to video games sounds great! Setting it up with the smart things app is very simple and love how the app can provide updates for the soundbar. You can also control the soundbar and change settings in the app which is way easier than using the remote to adjust its settings. Overall this soundbar is incredible and it's all done in an insanely thin design.

I no it bad. I will return it. I didn't have the money after the house fire to buy the better one. So I'll just stick to the movie theaters.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am so thoroughly impressed by this sound bar. Our household loves striving to create the best soundscapes and experiences we can, as we digest a LOT of media. We selected the Samsung HW-S800D (3.1.2 channel setup) knowing that this best carries theater-like sound throughout the large room this lives in. What really sold us was the form factor AND usage of Dolby Atmos, which is largely why the 3.1.2 channel setup sounds as good as it does. Setup was NOT as easy as expected (or as the instructions tried to convince us it was). The subwoofer did not automatically pair with the soundbar like the instructions alluded to, and I had to do the manual pairing process thrice to finally get them to pair. I believe the issue was that the soundbar was trying to download/install a software update after I got it set up on my wifi and in my Smart Things app. I say “I believe”, since there was no indication that this software update was being attempted until after each timeI rebooted the soundbar while following the instructions under troubleshooting the subwoofer. I do like that the Smart Things app integration (and wifi integration for that matter) was optional. It added additional steps to my setup since I understand and appreciate the integrations it provides my household, but I love that it was not mandatory for the folks who may not care. Overall, as frustrating as the setup was for a few moments, the sound quality is immaculate and worth the fuss ten times over.

Not only did it take me less than ten minutes to set up and have working, but it packs an immersive punch to anything you watch. Our tv sits close to our mantel so having a sllim soundbar makes it fit perfectly where I didn't think other soundbars would ever work for us. Our remote that we already us for our tv picked up with the connected item so there's also no need to use 3 or more remotes just to do volume, channels, etc. The True Dolby Atmos sound makes the immersiveness of the sound on another level that makes it seem like you're at the movies in your own home. The voice adapter is a big deal as well. I always hate watching a movie and the action is super loud and then you can't hear a talking scene. This adapter helps take care of that so you aren't messing with the volume throughout your viewing. I highly recommend this soundbar and can't wait to entertain with this hooked up!

It is very thin and discreet in size that it doesn't give away my 65" "Painting" as a TV. The installation is flawless. I use the TV+Soundbar settings (Q-Symphony) and Adaptive sound. It was a total game changer. I experimented with Twisters, Top Gun Maverick movies to test the Dolby Atmos. Its was GOOD. The small subwoofer shows its weakness in a big room. But what can you expect from a 9" woofer. Overall, I am happy with the purchase.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the sound from this thin but mighty soundbar using Q-Symphony. My tv is hung from the wall, and this soundbar works perfectly for my situation where I have the soundbar hung under my tv using a soundbar mount that connects to the back of the tv. My only gripe would be when I needed to do a firmware update... Out of the box I was getting hardly any bass from the woofer. I called support and they suggested updating to the latest firmware which did fix the problem, this is something that I thought I had already done through the SmartThings App. However the latest firmware update SmartThings was not recognizing, Samsung sort this out! This also happened on my previous Samsung soundbar. Next problem was this soundbar comes with a USB-A port, who does that! Luckily I still had a usb-a drive lying around in the back of a drawer however then I realized there is absolutely no way that ANY USB drive is going to fit where they have placed this usb port, totally dumb design, I had to purchase a USB extension cable that would connect from my usb drive to the port in the corner of the soundbar. Whoever designed that should be fired, such a dumb design that you cannot directly plug a usb drive to the port because of the corner that it is placed in, and a USB-A port as well.

My old soundbar bit the bullet so I replaced it with this ultra slim HW-S800D. I needed a slim soundbar to sit below the TV which is wall mounted a little too low and my old soundbar would partially block the lower part of the screen. This ultra slim soundbar is perfect! The sound is crystal clear, the bass is deep and powerful. While I was at it, I upgraded my TV to a QN90D. These two work in perfect "Symphony", i.e. Q-Symphony mode. Very spacial sound. I highly recommend the HW-S800D, especially when paired with a new Samsung Neo QLED TV!

We are pairing with a frame TV via bluetooth and the delay is horrible. Samsung support basically said there is some "interference" and delay to be expected. If that was the case, including the wire for hookup would have been helpful. Very disappointed in the technology. Also you can't get all of the audio features when connected via bluetooth.

It does a great job of making music and movies sound perfect. I thoroughly enjoy this product. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to add just a little extra to their family home entertainment.
