The price was within or close to the many competitive brands I reviewed and researched out. I wanted an electric start so my wife could start it if needed in my absence. The main initial wattage output was very important to start the electrical appliances in my home that I feel is needed. Primarily, the well pump, two refrigerators, several room lights, TV, security system and possibly the AC/heat system if really needed. I do not have it set up yet but will soon be adding a manual transfer switch to connect this unit to. Looking forward to providing me the power I need during the next hurricane. IRMA was cruel to us. I bought it at Sam's Club (06 JUN 22) and assembled it per the instructions. I fired it up once and it ran for a few minutes. When I shut it down and attempted to restart it, it wouldn't fire. It just makes backfiring noises. It still doesn't start or run. Needless to say, I am not pleased! Your phone rep was supposed to forward me a list of authorized repair shops, but I have yet to receive it. I want my generator to run in event of a power loss. Please help me to reconcile this situation.

Just purchased this unit. Easy to assemble and service to run. Started in just a couple of revolutions. Low idle works as ment too. When power is needed it throttles up. Started my 4 hp compressor for initial test. No problem. I would recommend this unit.

This particular model has enough available power to run an average 3 bed room house including the furnace and refrigerator. To ensure a no overload condition have refrigerator turned off until furnace or ac kicks in then turn on. Easy to maintain and easy starting.

Bought this generator during a storm where half our province was out of power for over a week. I utilize it as a whole home backup generator, it has enough power to run my well pump and sump pump as well as heating my water when I need it to. it starts right up without hesitation and runs smoothly. The frame and wheels are very rugged to carry it around since it is on the heavy side. the only down fall that I found with it was that it is quite noisy so I will be building an insulated cover for it. Extremely satisfied, never looked back.

Easy to assemble well explained instructions. You can see and feel you have a solid well built piece of equipment. Started without issue however was louder than anticipated or had hoped for. Peace of mind knowing that my family will be comfortable through power outages thanks to Generac

I bought this generator just under a year ago. We were expecting power outages up to several weeks. Glad that we weren't effected. The reason for my 2 stars is the Generator is supposed to have a great warranty. Buyer beware, after putting the generator together and trying to start it the generator failed to start. I called to have someone to come out to check the generator and was told that I had to bring it to a place. So a generator that weights over 100lbs with a full 7 gal tank of fuel they expected me to transport over 25 miles to have it serviced. I would NEVER buy another product from this company.

Love this generator. It supplies all the power I need to run essential circuits in my house, and then some. I love the push button start and the start and stopping instructions printed on top of the machine. Cooler yet is the fuel saving auto idle switch and all of the receptacle options. This thing does everything. Finally, while it's a heavy generator, the wheel kit and large handle bar make it easy to move around.

I use this generator five days a week, all day long. It is a work horse. My only complaint is that the electric start is not dependable. Since the generator starts so well with the pull starter this is not a deal breaker. It is of interest that I've had a few Generac 8,000 watt electric start generators and they all have electric starters that are flaky. Since they pull start so well I live with it.

Great features like the electrical outlets, the size is compact and convenient and is actually a bit more quiet then I expected (it's not quiet, but definitely not the loudest I have heard) I think everyone would should have something like this for emergency purposes and recreational use. I would absolutely recommend this to all my friends and family.
