Just received the new GP1800. It was easy to setup, manual is easy to follow with good diagrams and explanations, and above all it was easy to start. We have been hit with some terribly bad weather this winter (and flooding in summer) and I was determined not to be without power again. This unit will provide enough power for the primary needs. Wish it had a couple of more outlets but will manage fine. It is reassuring to have a good unit like this always available for use!

I purchased this generator in late June after a bad storm and I lost power for almost a week. Vowing, that that would never happen again. Tyler tools had a remanufactured GP15000E on sell for under $2000.00 (great price), so I bought it. Had the house wired up, so I could run anything I wanted as long as I stayed under 50 amps. Did a test run under load and it was working great, I was very happy with the performance for about 7 minutes. Then, ka-pow, generator stopped. I tried starting it several times; it wouldn’t even turn over, dead as a doornail. I took the generator to my local dealer (Precision Small Engines, Inc.), they told me the engine control module was fried and a new one would have to be ordered. It now runs, I have not retested it under load. I’m worried about a failure when I need it most. The other problem is the wheel kit. Not everyone has a garage and those that don’t have to store it in the basement or tool shed, for me it was the basement. The wheel kit measured 31.5 inches wide and the door has an opening of 29 inches. I had to make other arrangements for storage. Only time will tell if this was a good purchase.

It can run from 3 fuel sources which makes it convenient for many emergencies or when you need it most. The wattage and power is impressive. This runs my deep freezer for hours without any issues. It was easy to assemble and the wheels and handle make it easy to move around. This generator is incredible, the noise level is surprisingly low for as much power that it boasts. This is perfect for the power outages that have unfortunately become more common in this area. This is a product and brand that I highly recommend.

I have only owned this product for a short time but it powers my furnace, sump, fridge & freezer. I have not pushed it any further but that's the coverage I need if I get in trouble. However; I would like to have some one tell me how to replace the muffler. I want a very portable & quiet power source!!!

The generator came with oil and clear instructions for assembly and operation. It starts very easily and has operated dependably each time I needed it. I had to call customer service to register my warranty and the person I spoke with was very friendly, spoke clear english and took care of everything I needed. Overall I am very happy with my purchase and would strongly recommend this product.

I was really surprised at the poor quality of the generator I purchased in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. The fuel tank leaked fuel. Once I got the tank replaced, the fuel petcock now leaks fuel. Even the replacement one I received leaks fuel. I would not purchase again, nor would I recommend purchase of a generac generator.

Had to replace my old generator (That was not a generac) that had for the last 15 years. Bought this from a local vendor. The unit started right up. I already have a generac home standby but It really uses the propane to run all night. I use this to just run fridge and furnace at night. The home standby was the best purchase ever. Soon as the power goes out the standby will start right up. I have the 6500 run just a few circuits when don't want the standby running. The 6500 has electric start which is nice. I was without power when 1st bought and it ran for 16 hours straight. No problems. I would recommend the generac name to anyone. After bought my home standby my inlaws bought one and love it. Highly recommend the portable 6500E.

I bought this unit as a whole house backup generator. It has not let us down. Last year while camping got a text from the power company saying power was out at the house. We came home and I fired the genny and it ran very well with the central ac and refrigerator and freezer all running at the same time. Power was restored about 5 hours later. If not for the backup we would have lost over a thousand dollars worth of food.

Only used in one power outage. Handled two fridges, a furnace, large TV, some lights without a glitch. Easy to manuver with the furnished wheel assembly. In the process of installing a seperate manual transfer panel to hook up 30 amp twist lock into the house.

Great product, well made, starts immediately with electric start. I only ran it for a short time after installing the house electrical transfer panel. Generator handled everything with no problem. I do wish that there would be an oil filter for the engine. I know someone with a 10,000 watt generator and that has an oil filter.
