Better then my first Generac

I already owned a 5kv Generac and was extremely happy with it. A few weeks ago my daughter lost power due to storms and was told it could be 5 days until power returned. I loaded my 5kw on trailer and connected to power her frig, furnace, and a few lights. Generator worked great as always, and saved all food, kept house heated. I then decided why haul back and forth, since it worked so well at her house I'd leave it there and buy myself this new 6500E. Now I know we both will never be w/o power again what ever mother nature throws at us and I will not have to "share."

i love my 17500

in the north east in new hampshire we lose power a lot.i bought the generac 17500 and have used it about 7 times in the past 10 years. it ran flawlessly and the girls were very happy at home which made my life very peaceful for the week to 10 days we had it running.the only time it never started is when i neglected to keep on eye on it's battery,if it just sits around for a year or two the battery will lose it's starting power when you need it.ever so often put a charger on it so it's alive when you need it.

Love it

I had an old 12,000 or 10,000 watt Generac not sure what year it was that would run my house off transfer switch. It came with the house n was stored under wood box by transfer switch. I bought the house in 1993 and bought a new cheap generator in 2012 to replace the old Generac . I never used the new generator that was a 12,000 watt other than letting it run a bit every 3 months. We had a bad storm in 2020 and I used it everyday for a week till it came apart n the air filter caught on fire plus I could not run a lot of stuff in the house. I just bought the Generac 1500 and used it once on a power outage n it ran whole house. I’m impressed with the quality of the Generac

Running through a winter storm outage

Inherited as part of our home purchase and to be fair did not pay much attention to it. Started it once just to check if it works about 3 years back. I had very little hopes of getting it started and have it working. Battery was flat (since i never charged it) and it had 4+ years old gas in it. NOTE: Please do not try this on your set :) It started on the second pull and have been running for last two days. We have 2 refrigerators, 1 deep freezer, forced air heating, washer dryer, garage doors, kitchen appliances including a microwave and whole house lighting. We are careful of not loading it up. With that said, this thing runs like a champ, flawless. Cannot recommend it enough.

Easy start

We purchased our unit the day before Hurricane Ida hit the LA coast. Our old unit would not start so we had to get a new one. This was the only one available everyone was sold out. I am sure glad they had this unit. It was very easy to assemble. Hurricane Ida hit and the power was out for 10 days. It ran 8 to 10 hours a day and never faulted in any way. It was very easy to start, it ran everything I needed (except to central a/c). I just took it out of storage for the new hurricane season. I checked everything out filled it with gasoline and started on the first pull. Very very satisfied.

Purchased Sep 2018 - Won't Start

I bought one of these about two years ago. It ran fine for 40 minutes the first time we used it. The generator had plenty of power and was reasonably quiet. The appearance and quality of construction appear to be much better than other similar size generators. For the next few months the generator was taken out, started and run a few times for testing. The next time we actually needed it, the generator ran for about 5 minutes and quit with a CO sensor alarm light on. The generator was outside, under a deck, but not enclosed in any way. Exhaust was pointed away from the house. We couldn't get it to run any more for that outage. It only has 1.4 hours on the meter, cranks good, but will not fire. Since then, I've dragged it outside, gone through the manual and tried several times to get it to run. It has plenty of oil and gasoline. It cranks good but has no spark, won't fire. I've looked, but have not found any place in the area that appears capable of servicing this generator. I suspect the CO sense system is defective, but since I can't find a reliable place for service, the generator and any warranty are completely useless.

Worked perfectly when we had a power outage on Christmas Day.

We bought this generator because of 3 day power outage we suffered through this past summer. We lost power on Christmas Day and the generator did all we expected and more. It ran 2 refrigerators, stand up freezer, and furnace. We had heat, tv, lights, garage door opener ,coffee maker and everything else we needed. Ran for over 12 hours on a tank of gas. I would recommend this product to anyone, just make sure you have the correct size for you needs.

Great Product

So I heard Generac has a great reputation for making reliable generators and even though I bought a portable generator, working in the propane business, their are many where I live that are buying the permanent home stand by propane powered generators and they are reliable and even though my is portable but used for home standby too, its what I want. I know it will do the job and keep us comfortable and our keep our food fresh while the power is out. I have yet to get my electrical panel up to code and a transfer switch installed on my house, but when I do I will be able to enjoy the full luxuries of having power without power :) Noise level though its just like a lawn mower or any other gas powered engine, pretty noisy, but again, your inside and its outside and so i can handle the noise.

Easy to set up and use

Bought this as an emergency purchase. Had borrowed a no name generator for camping to have it quit working. Went to Menards in Princeton Indiana at closing time and found this model. Had been wanting of my own for various reasons over the years and have always put it off because of so many choices out there. Being forced to make a split decision in bio this one was a blessing in disguise. Could not be happier with this generator.
