This Generator is excellent .

I have not had a chance to run this generator for an extended period of time yet, but I know that it is easy to start and has sufficient power rating to run a refrigerator, freezer, television, a microwave, and two electric heaters, and a few lights during a power outage. Easy to roll it into service and place into service.

Great Generator! AAAAA+++++

This is by far the best Generator I have ever owned and operated and I have owned a total of 8 different ones. It powered my home during a recent black out effortlessly for days. It sips fuel and tell you how long it will run, etc. Always a very quick starter and is instantly ready to provide the necessary power. I would buy another one without and hesitation due it's quiet, efficent operation.

Must have for hurricane season!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This TriFuel Generator by Generac is going to come in very handy come hurricane season. Living in central Florida, a generator is a must have! This one runs on natural gas, gasoline and propane. We tried it first with propane and it started right up with the battery start, and it quickly shut right off when we closed to valve on the propane tank. Last year there was a huge issue with finding gas after Hurricane Milton, now that we can also use propane I feel so much more prepared!

Great unit with Excellent customer support

bought this unit, and had a major issue with it before it even had any hours on. I contacted customer support and had the issue resolved with one phone call. They sent out the parts right away, without any problems. now the unit runs perfectly. very happy with this purchase.

A few disappointments with the 17500W generator purchase

I have not started the generator yet but in getting it ready I've identified a few disappointing aspects. First and probably the biggest disappointment is the requirement to measure valve clearance at every 50 hour interval. The owners manual informs you this is pretty complicated (without describing the procedure) and suggests you have a qualified dealer do it (...did I mention the requirement for every 50 hours of operation?). The generator came with a note indicating the unit is "shipped without oil" and they supply 2 quarts for the required 1.7 quart capacity. When I poured the first quart in, the oil level was well above full on the dipstick ….indicating the engine was not even close to empty of oil. I also found the assembly instructions to be near non-existent because the exploded view of the assembly was so small in the users manual; also - it did not reference torques for any bolts or wear lock washers vs. nylon nuts should be used. I also noted two wires stretched very tight across the oil filter - which needed to be disconnected and re-connected following a less stressful path. I truly hope the generator will work well despite these initial findings.

It does what it's supposed to

After 35 years at the same address and typically dealing with 1 or 2 mostly short outages per year, we experienced an 8 hour outage and a 5 hour outage within 2 months. My wife said we need a generator! We looked at whole house backup but that seemed like overkill and very expensive. After lots of online research we settled on a Generac in the 6500-8000 watt range. Because we have a well, we needed 230v output. The price difference between 6500 and 8000 was so small, we opted for the GP8000e. The installer put a lockout on our electrical panel so we can switch between generator power or electric service but the generator cannot backfeed the incoming electric. Yesterday we experienced a 5 hour outage. After 30 minutes, I rolled the generator out of the garage and onto my patio. It fired up with electric start even though I had not charged the battery since the initial startup 4 months ago. I hooked up the 30amp cable to the receptacle on the house, switched the lockout on the service entrance to generator power and we had power. In addition to the well pump, furnace fan, and fridge, we ran the microwave, an electric cooktop (not at the same time), and all the lights we wanted. My only complaint, though not unexpected, was the volume. It is loud! My phone sound meter app registered 90db at about 10' away. It was about 8' from our family room and even with the windows closed, it was too loud to watch TV comfortably so we retreated to the basement. It's also quite heavy but I had no real trouble wheeling it around the house from the garage to the patio. Overall, I'm very pleased with it and my wife was happy that we had water and a cold refrigerator during our 5 hour outage.

Great product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall we have loved having this generator around. We did test it out with a few power tools and it works great. We have it ready to go for the rest of hurricane season. Right now we have used it for minor stuff just to test it out and so far it seems to hold up great. It is not overly loud for a generator. I will say it is really heavy and I am glad it has the handle to push/pull it. I am even more glad its handle can be moved in different positions.

Good quality machine, runs great.

Assembly was easy and straight forward. Serviced it with gas & oil and connected the battery. Opened the fuel valve and hit the start button. It started on the first crank. Ckecking the outlets with a meter I noticed it ran quiter than I expected. Everything was right on the money. Too bad I didn't own it in time for the 2013 Christmas ice storm. I was a contruction tradesmen for forty years. I know and appreciate using quality tools.

Indestructible!!!

I’ve only got about 10 or 12 hours on my 6500 but I am amazed at how it performs after surviving two floods in my garage!!! Both times the water got high enough to fill the muffler and reached the electrical outlets. Both times I drained the water out, checked the carburetor and changed the oil to be safe. It fired up, steamed out the remaining bit of water in the muffler and ran as though nothing had happened. I was sure I was going to have to spend a lot of money to get it up and running again. I’m very impressed with my purchase. I’m staying with these guys.

Hihg quality, easy to set up and use, reliable performance. Great value.

The generator was easy to assemble and use with minimal effort. Instructions were concise and intuitive. All necessary parts were included. The generator started after a few revs of the starter and ran reliably over the next 1 1/2 weeks after Sandy hit. It is reasonably quiet for its rating. It was used to run a variety of household items through the house circuitry which included well pump, septic pump, 2 refrigerators, miscellaneous lighting, oil furnace with hot water baseboard heat, TV, computers and microwave. There were no issues with the performance. There were two less than excellent features: 1) the "snap in pin that supports the collapsible handle is not very sturdy and it will not support any significant pressure. It sheared partially off when someone leaned on it, when locked in the up position. 2) the oil dip stick is not clearly marked with "full" and "add" markings and the instructions are not very clear about the fill level. A picture would have helped.
