Fortunately, I haven't had an outage since purchase, but set up was easy and startup successful. But without a real test, I can only say that I expect it to perform in an outstanding way, just like the other DR/Generac products that I have. Brush mower, trimmer mower, drag/harrow.

After a tornado last November left us without power for 3-1/2 days, I decided to take the leap and install a transfer switch and purchase a portable emergency generator. I researched and looked at a lot of brands but always found myself coming back to Generac. I decided on the 7500 E and purchased it at a local big box store and took it home. Packaging was excellent and everything was in pristine condition out of the box. I inspected the frame and it is a very rugged design which I believe will give many good years of trouble free service. 30 minutes later I had it assembled, oil & gas added, and it started immediately when I pushed the start button. It is smooth running, quieter than I though it would be for its size, and easier to move around than I thought it would be for its weight, thanks to the sturdy fold down handle and wheels. I ran some garage loads on it to break it in and the voltage held steady at 119.8 volts regardless of load. I haven't used it in an emergency situation yet, but it performed exactly as advertised right out of the box. I am 100 % glad I bought this generator and I am very satisfied with my choice so far. I would recommend this generator to anyone who is looking for ease of assembly and more than enough power to keep them comfortable in any outage. Hopefully we won't have another tornado any time soon, but with this machine I am confident that we will be ready for whatever nature throws at us.

Living in a remote location in North Western PA. our power was always going out and with this years bitter cold I figured it was time to purchase a generator. After speaking with a lot of people in my situation and electricians as well as the local power company it was clear a Generac was the way to go. I purchased the GP8000E. The electric company hooked up a connector to my meter that fit my 220 plug. The first time I had to use it was awesome. I plugged it into the meter pushed the start button and it powered my entire house. The only draw back was the wheel bracket on the frame broke. so I had to drag it into place from my shed as apposed to free wheeling it. Still it was pretty quite and after 7 hours of use still had almost half of a tank. I'm sold.

Oh, and then there was the exhaust, smoke and low current. Not anymore! This thing is a dream. Arrived well packaged and was a breeze to set up. Basically you attach the wheels, front rests and handle and it’s ready to go. Well you add oil (included, along with a handy funnel) From there, startup instructions are well documented in the book AND on the generator itself. I really appreciate that there are easy to follow graphical steps on the unit itself for starting and running the unit. A few quick pulls and it was purring like a kitten. I haven’t had a chance to put too much load on it, but so far it’s easily powered everything I’ve thrown at it! The unit is heavy, feels like everything is high quality, and I expect it to last a long time. Definitely recommend!

This product was a life saver for me and my family after surviving Hurricane Michael. It’s loud but it does it job and does it well. We were able to keep our house running for day without power. It runs about 10hrs on a tank of gas and it had enough power to run our whole home. Then after our power was restored it was used to help others until theirs was restored. This generator was a great investment, don’t be like my family and wait until you absolutely need it, buy one now and be prepared for anything!

Took it out of the box attached wheels and legs. Small problem with a punched out piece of metal still in one of the holes. A little bit of a pain to drill out but got it. Filled with oil and stabilized gas hit start button and off we went. Wired home interlock and plug in to breaker panel which was very easy. Shut main breaker off turned on 30 amp breaker and ran the entire home. Not oven or AC although it would run AC and furnace with some things turned off. I was running Well pump and sump pump as well as a refrigerator and freezer. Awesome machine so far. Looking forward to first power outage. I will be turning on the front porch lights to show off.

Three quotes of average 6500.00 to set up a house generator. This was a great choice. although it won't automatically start when power goes out. We can plug this in and power our whole panel, then just be careful on what you use. total cost plus the hiring af electrician 1600.00. Simple box switch. Perfect solution for us.

Had to replace my old generator (That was not a generac) that had for the last 15 years. Bought this from a local vendor. The unit started right up. I already have a generac home standby but It really uses the propane to run all night. I use this to just run fridge and furnace at night. The home standby was the best purchase ever. Soon as the power goes out the standby will start right up. I have the 6500 run just a few circuits when don't want the standby running. The 6500 has electric start which is nice. I was without power when 1st bought and it ran for 16 hours straight. No problems. I would recommend the generac name to anyone. After bought my home standby my inlaws bought one and love it. Highly recommend the portable 6500E.

Had a hurricane coming our way so decided to purchase a generac because of its reputation. Set it all up and tested it out, but never used it because the storm turned and headed up the coast. We at least have comfort knowing we are covered if another storm heads our way, which is likely because we live in Florida.
