Assembling the product was easy and took about 45 minutes. I found the generator to start easily and it took no time for it to provide power to my home during a power outage. My 15,000 watt generator provides me and my family the safety and comfort we were looking for in the event of an emergency. This is the second Generac I have owned, my first one was a 1987 model 5,000 watt which I sold to purchase my new model. I highly recommend purchasing one.

This Generator starts every time and I have had no problems in 2 years. Shortly after I got this unit I had shoulder surgery. The design of the unit allowed me to set a couple short pieces of 2x4 on top to straddle the fuel line and set the 5 Gallon gas can right on top over the fill hole using only one arm. The only problem I had with this unit was when I let the oil level get too low and the unit would not start without enough oil....good safety catch! I put oil in it and off it went without a hitch. I ran a refrigerator, small freezer, sump pump, well pump, furnace, TV, garage door opener, and some lights with no problems. I have used it several times now when we loose power here in the country and it has never failed me.

Bought the 6500 in 2015 after losing power for 5 days after a storm. I went with Generac because of the trusted name and reviews. Recently lost power in a winter storm for two days. This baby ran for 48 hours straight through a transfer switch and powered my heat, two refrigerators, three tv's, all my lights no problem! Best $800.00 i ever spent.

It can run on gasoline, liquid propane, or natural gas. It offers 12500 starting watts of power and 9500 running watts. This generator gives me so much comfort that if something happens, I know we will have power and everything will okay until the power comes back! It can run from 3 fuel sources which makes it convenient for many emergencies or when you need it most. The wattage and power is impressive. I highly recommend this generator— worth every single penny!!

The power to my house has been pretty reliable up until this year. We have has three outages for extended periods of time so far this year. I have a well and a freezer full of beef, so I bought this generator to power my house during these outages. The power has not gone out since I bought it, but it does run all my appliances and the well pump without any problems when I tested it. It is worth having the insurance of stand-by power when it is needed.

Have had the generator for a few weeks but held off running it until I had a manual transfer switch installed. That happened this week and so the time came to test the switch and the generator. As this was a first run the carb and tank were dry. In went the quart of oil, about a gallon of gas, I pressed the (electric) start button and it fired up without a hitch. I then flipped the well pump, furnace, fridge, a couple of lights and a chest freezer over and no-one in the house even noticed, and the generator wasn't even close to capacity. I hope I never need to use the unit in anger, but I'm happy that if we loose power, we will at least have the basics.

I purchased my RS 8000E for back up power in April of 2020 and had an electrician hook up a box to my breaker box so i have power to the entire house. In October we lost power for about 5.5 hours due to heavy snow and transformers were blowing out all over the area. We had just sat down for dinner with our three daughters and there boyfriends, needless to say we were the only home with power that I know of in more than a 2 mile radius. The generator worked great. I feel if you need it, it will pays for itself after just a few uses. I would highly recommend this generator.

I like this unit a lot. It powers my entire house and I have frequent power outages. My only gripe is the handle and wheels. The rubber hand holds slide right off and there is only one pin to.secure the folding handle which feels kind of cheap. It's hard to roll this across an uneven surface. Maybe it was only intended for city people.to roll on cement.in the garage. Trying to get it from the shed to the house across an uneven yard kind of sucks. Guess I'll have to either build it its own house or get it a tougher cart to mount it in

I purchased this in 2005 because of the hurricane Wilma, I live in Pompano Bch. FL. It has set in the garage for 12 years . I started it last year to check it and put it back. By the way it started right up no problem. Then along came Irma this year. I had pulled it out and got ready. I lost power Sunday and didn't get it back till the following Saturday. The generator ran flawless and I never shut it off. I kept the neighbors food. It ran my central ac, refrigerator, a wall ac,freezer,4 TVs,4 ceiling fans Water heater, pool pump, lights, microwave, boat lift and never stopped once. The best thing I've purchased. It sat along time but was there when I needed it. Thank you for a great product. My wife has 2 different forms of stage 4 cancer and we really needed this life saver. I already had a Generac Pressure Washer and it has worked great so I did some research on their portable generators and they looked like they also had good quality. I purchased one a few weeks ago and it is a very well built generator. It has performed better than expected.
