Have owned a 7,000 exl by Generac for years and never a single problem. Made the decision to purchase this GP17,500 watt beast. Very impressed with the quality of this unit. Fired up without the choke on first start out of the box! Have only ran for an hour doing a break in, so haven't put a load on it yet, but I can tell the Beast is ready! Thanks for a well made product!

I bought this and it last half of the plug in receptacle immediately now it becomes my problem to transport to nearest licensed facility in apopka fl Why can i get a pick up of this massiive machine you should have all my product and home location

I just had it recently set up but have not used it yet due to no power outage. I really love the electric start which makes it so easy for me to start it up. It gives me the peace of mind to know I have something reliable when power finally does go out.

Straight off the skid, gas and oil added and my Generac fired on the first pull. Even my gf has no problem firing it up. We're doing major alterations on a cabin and use the generator at least 4 days per week. Surprising how long it runs on a tank of fuel. I ckeck it several times daily and swear somebody is sneaking gas into the tank. It's a bit noisy, but outside where that doesn't matter. Before retirement, I'd been in construction but never had the opportunity to use a generac. Those boys don't know what they're missing. I'm completely satisfied, and have already boasted about my great choice. When the work is complete, my Generac will be set up for back-up power. I feel secure knowing it can be counted on in a pinch !!!

I purchased this generator after the issues with Hurricane Irene. When this storm hit and we lost power, I simply brought out the generator, hit the switch and forgot about it. It performed great. I ran my boiler, refrigerator and a TV. I have and will continue to highly recommend this product.

Thorough research and customer satisfaction, were the basis for my selection. Review of the product was simplified by the product manual, which was most informative and easy to understand. I will be getting a quote for the home standby system as soon as possible. In Florida, a generator is as necessary as homeowners insurance.

Bottom of box and pallet was taped to pallet. I signed off, delivery driver drove off. 3 hours later, at 6:30 pm I took off the tape to see that somewhere in the process the tape was used to cover up a number of big holes and the powder coated frame was scraped up in 5 places. The battery tray flange was bent. Forklift damage I assume. I'm asking retailer to contact Generac and get me touch up paint to avoid rust... and a return.... I'm in the process of breaking it in. Lets see how Generac handles this, and I'll report back. Somebody tried to cover up a mistake, and it does not reflect well on the brand.

I bought this unit for backup power 9 months ago. I run it 30 minutes every month. The last time I started it, it leaked a gallon of gas around the generator. Had I not checked after 5 minutes running, I am sure my building and surrounding buildings would have gone up in a huge fire. Needless to say, I returned the unit for a refund. I can't recommend this without knowing what the problem with the generator is! Never, never, another gasoline generator.

I have been considering purchasing a backup power source for my home and had actually purchased a portable generator years ago. But as I've gotten older, having to pull the cord to get it started takes a toll on my shoulder and then there's the thought of my wife having to start it if I'm not home or able, it's no longer practicable. So I have been weighing my options and this unit looks great, compact, has electric start! Even included the battery. Although, I haven't needed it just yet, I feel confident that when I do I'm going to be able to get it going without injuring myself. and i won't have to worry about having being without power!!

Purchased this Generac, after a series of power outages, at a major retailer. (I had gotten quotes for over $10k for a 20 KW standby whole house Generac Gaurdian Series with a 46 week lead & install time). Put it together and had it running in 35 minutes. Although it is bulky and heavy to move around, we have it stored in the garage until needed. Had a Electrician install a plug outside and tied it into our breaker box with an interlock. Our test seems to run everything that is needed in our 1,850 sq ft home. Very happy that for about a total of $2k, I can deal with lugging the portable generator 60ft to our spot to plug it in. Love the electric start and plan on monthly 20-30 minute running test! So far very happy with this set up! Now for the real test of losing power!
