[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As we head into the winter months, I'm so grateful to have the Generac Power Systems GP5500 Single Fuel Portable Generator. Power outages are pretty common where I live, and having this gives me real peace of mind knowing I can keep our outdoor refrigerator running and save our perishables if we lose power. The generator itself is quite large, but that's to be expected given its power and capacity — and setup was surprisingly easy with minimal assembly required right out of the box. It feels solid, well-built, and dependable. While I mainly use it as a backup for power loss, it's strong enough to handle outdoor work or hobby use as well. It's one of those purchases you hope you don't need often, but you're so thankful to have when you do.

I love that it runs on propane or regular gasoline.Having both options makes it so much easier when stores are crowded or one fuel is hard to find. It starts up quickly and is simple to use, even for someone who isn't super technical. When our power went out last week, it kept the essentials running: fridge, lights, Wi-Fi/router, and a couple of other small items we needed. No hiccups, no fuss. Switching between fuels is straightforward, and it's been very reliable every time we've tested it. If you're looking for peace of mind during outages, this has been a solid, no-drama solution for our home

Worked great, used it this past weekend for about 8 hrs. No issues!

Starts easy, have not had to use it yet, I run it once a month just to warm it up.

The shipping company just dropped off the generator and assembled it and everything went smooth and all parts were in the kit. I put gas in and hit the electric start and immediately started with the choke on. This thing is quieter than my 24 year old Generac, not saying its quiet, not nearly as loud as the old one. If this is nearly as reliable as my 24 year old Generac I'll be happy. With electric start my wife can now start the generator if I'm not around. This thing is easier to move around than the old smaller generator. This also comes with a 25' extensions cord with a single plug for generator and 3 plug on other end.

Only used 1 weekend so far,easy setup and started on first push on electric start all weekend!!! Love it!!!

Very nice generator. Provided water and lights during our 3 week power outage. Push start is great!

8k generator does a great job. Just realize when you are using the 220v outlet no other outlets are useable

I bought my unit based on its dual fuel capabilities however starting it in LP mode is a bit of a challenge.
