Outstanding base... well above expectations!
Bought two Twin XLs and although there were a few hiccups on delivery (FedEx changed the delivery date 3 times; messed up our timing in removing the old King mattress and box springs). Also, one of the two boxes was damaged enough to make a slit of 3-4" long on the fabric that wraps around the frame/structure of the base. Also, the motor for the back (not the pillow tilt) got affected as it works slow and makes a noise when operated. But that was due to damage during shipping as the other base is fantastic! - it works very smoothly at below average noise, the massage is absolutely wonderful, the response is outstanding (with the 1/8 min ON/OFF ratio, or 12.5% efficiency; ...most bases have a lower % which limits operating the motors in a more continuous fashion). The base seems very well built, and looking underneath you can see well designed parts and positioned perfectly. Is there any room for improvement? Of course, always, no matter what product it is, there are things that one can better. For example, 1) The leg rise range is quite small - they could have allowed a higher rise without, btw, adversely affecting anything 2) The pillow tilt too should be given a wider range (again, no additional cost or adversity by doing so) 3) Bottom, foot-side of mattress, when raised at max foot lift, creates a large gap (between the top surface of base structure and the bottom side of the mattress) - that creates a palpitating effect or springiness which is also exacerbated for short people (less weight is applied at the end of the mattress since feet do not reach all the way down to the bottom of the mattress). Perhaps a couple of straps can hold the bottom of the mattress tied to the base structure to avoid the vertical bouncing (something like SleepOne has in place on their bases) 4) The individual leg sections(of equal length) that make up the full leg could be made with different lengths and been provided with few extra sections of varying length so that the actual height of the base from the floor can be adjusted in smaller increments (instead of the current 3" length for each section) There are some other minute improvement details although not worth mentioning. But all in all, this base is well made, seems to use good parts (great 10-yr warranty), and is above average in design and performance. And if you factor in Sam's price? It is a steal !!!!!!
Has all Features
We bought this about 3 months ago and it lives up to the expectations and has all the features. You can customize your tilt which is nice. The reason for the reduced stars is the bottom never completely lays flat, it always looks like middle is sagging.
Review and Zero Clearance Install Notes (no legs)
Members Mark Premier Split King Adjustable Base. Zero clearance installation. I have a have a King storage bed with a base that is partly wood slats and part finished wood. I need a Split King adjustable base that was zero clearance, or could be used with no legs. The Samsclub.com online description of the Members Mark Premier Split King Adjustable is out of date. It indicates it is not compatible with zero clearance, but the manufacturer has upgraded the design and verified for me that they are shipping a zero clearance model. In the attached photo you can see that the bed fits and works on a storage bed or a sleigh bed design. The split king is shipped as 2 twin XL units. Each with its own remote. My twin XL mattresses were not due to arrive for several days, so I used the included synch cable so either remote adjusts both sides in unison. When the split mattresses are installed, I will remove the synch cable between the frames and the beds will operate independently with their own remote. The shipment was in two boxes. Heavy at around 100lbs each, I was able to get them in the house and up the stairs myself by putting the box on edge and rolling them end over end. When I got the the hardwood floor, placing the box on a blanket and dragging the blanket worked great. Up a flight of stairs by placing the top edge of the box on a stair and using the steps as a lever to rotate the box up (I looked like the flag raising at Iwo Jima lol). The legs and remotes are in bags wire tied to the inside of the frame. Be careful not to cut any wires when cutting the wire ties! Be aware before you position the unit on the bed frame that there are "Left" and "Right" units. To tell them apart look for the USB ports. The USB ports are on the outside edge of the frame. I was afraid that I would need to buy plywood to prevent the rollers from getting caught in the spaces between the slats. But the design anticipated slats and it operates perfectly with no legs. There is a flexible bracket intended to connect the two bed from separating. For zero clearance applications, I would NOT recommend using them. I wasted more time trying to get them to work. They are for floor applications with legs attached. There are velcro straps to wrap around the frame and the slats to secure them. Also included are wood screws of the perfect length to secure the two frames to the wood slats. Position the beds where you want them. Make sure to incline the feet before screwing the fame to the slats. If you have the foot of the unit too close the the bed's foot board it can block the free operation of the adjustable foot of the unit. Once securely screwed in I put the old king mattress on then attached the wire brackets that secure the mattress on the bottom of the unit. Doing this last allowed me to slide the (heavy) king mattress on from the bottom by myself without having to lift over the brackets. Love the bed, even before the split mattresses arrive! The head tilt is awesome. I can see the tv in the sweet spot of my variable lens glasses with dislocating my neck. The remote is simple and intuitive. I can't wait to get the individual twin xl mattresses installed so I don't have to sleep in the same configuration as my wife. (It will be a tough few nights). During several trips to the bathroom I was surprised to see there is an underbed night light. A soft blue color and not bright enough to notice from the bed. I will experiment tonight to see if it is turned on/off by a photo sensor or motion detector - or if it is on all the time. Love the USB ports. But like I mentioned, make sure you don't switch left and right units or you USB ports will wind up in the center of the bed and under the covers. Don't buy this for the vibrating massage feature. It works, but with 12" of mattress on top of the vibrating unit, it doesn't have a chance to be felt in a meaningful way. All in all I am extremely satisfied. Shipping was actually early (promised Saturday and it arrived on Wednesday (4 days early). Installation was easy once I got the boxes upstairs. I would have been done with the two units in an hour (30 minutes each) if I hadn't spent so much time trying to get the connecting brackets to work.
Works on a platform bed base!
I bought 2 twin XL adjustable frames for our king platform bed that has built-in drawers because I wanted to keep our bedroom furniture and so far it's working great. You just don't use the legs that come with it for that kind of setup. Setup was pretty easy, just very heavy.

I would recommend it for the price.
I really like it. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the vibrating is very loud.
