This has been an excellent tire. The one thing it needs is deeper tread. Michelin, if you are listening, your competitors are offering up to 20/32 inch tread depth and you are at 13.5/32 inch on the LT285/70/17 Defender LTX. If I see another tire with that much more tread depth, there is a good chance I will purchase it. Please, more tread depth to be competitive in the current LT tire market for the next edition of this tire. At least 1/2 inch.

26570R17, I knew the minute I drove away from the dealer, that I had made the right choice. The smooth, quiet, ride, at 40 PSI, was immediately VERY noticeable. I will soon find out how they do on the highway, and during Chicago winters. I am very pleased with this purchase! We drive about 50/50 city, highway, and this is our vehicle of choice for travel. Comfort is important to us, and these really fill the bill. If they are as good as Michelin says they will be, (rain, snow, stopping, traction, handling) I will be a Michelin buyer for everything. BUY THIS TIRE! Even my wife commented on how smooth and quiet they are.

Sometimes it takes awhile to realize there are products that paying alittle extra for up front return far greater value AND performance over the long term. Michelin LTX M/S - LTX M/S2 tires examplify that truth. After several sets of supposedly "quality" 6-ply tires for our Suburban used to pull our Airstream trailer and having a tread separate on the last set while towing at 55 mph on a very not day in northern California, we installed Michelin LTX M/S tires and have nothing but good things to say. First the Michelin tires DO NOT LOSS AIR PRESSURE between our trips like the previous "quality" tires did. Second the Michelin tires are more round AND required minimum wheel weights to balance. Thus the ride quality is far superior to the previous "quality" tires. Third even running the same 75 or 80 psi as done previousily with the other "quality" tires in the rears on the Suburban, the stability of the Michelin's is far superior. Bottom line, I have recommended Michelin to all that will listen in our Airstream group and many are making the switch as I did. FYI we recently purchased an Yukon XL to replace the aged Suburban with over 200,000 miles and had the new LTX M/S2's installed. Safety, reliability, long lasting, good value are the things I look for in my tires. I have tried less expensive tires in the past and regretted that choice. Peace of mind at not having to worry about my tires when I am driving and not having to buy new tires for a long time. Knowing I have one of the best tire choices on my vehicle, then I can think about the rest of the choices I have to make in my life. I have been a happy Michelin man for many years.

Good looking, long wearing tire. Whenever I've put LTX M/S on a vehicle those were the last tires I bought for the vehicle. Great traction on the beach. I buy AWD vehicles to drive on the beach, and LTX M/S is the best tire for off road and on road. The only inhibition is price. The most expensive tire you can buy.

I have a class-C RV, and have my 2nd set of Michelins on. The first set were 5 years old and the only sign of wear was due to a slight front end alignment. The rear showed no visible wear at all with 50M miles. However it was time to replace. The spare had never been off. I check pressure on all tires including the spare when we go for our monthly outing.

This is my 3rd set of Michelin Defender LTX M/S tires. They last a long time! I rotate them every 6000 miles. They handle well in wet and snowy conditions. My vehicle tracks better with Michelin tires. I have them on my Suburban and my 2500 HD. both "E" rated. They're great no matter what the task, from hauling just myself around to fully loaded with passengers and luggage, to towing my 32' travel trailer. These tires are quiet as well. I have had many other tire brands, some good some bad, but Michelin are the best and well worth the little extra they cost.

Long time Michelin fan. 2 months ago we had Defenders installed on our 2017 Ram 1500 and compared to the worn OEM tires, these are very quiet. One concern (or complaint) is that on gravel roads, they pick up and throw rocks… a lot more than any tire I’ve ever owned. I may have to swap these if I determine the rocks are causing damages.

Got a good price on these tires over the phone. Salesman switched me to a house brand. We could not get the vibration balanced out after 3 times including a "road force" balance. I insisted he take them off and give me the Michelins for which I originally asked. We installed the Michelins and with one or two tiny weights, instead of all the heavy ones on all the wheels, I have the smoothest ride anyone could ask for. It made me remember the words of a friend who was a service advisor for a car dealer who told people with balance problems, "do yourself a favor and let me sell you some Michelins. In every case it solved the problem. I will ONLY use Michelins!

I have been using Michelin LTX MS tires for years now. I've tried other brands and have always gone back to Michelin. The LTX MS is great not only on the highway, but performs well on the ranch and has never let me down. These tires have survived thorns, sharp rocks, and then provide a smooth and quiet ride back home.
