I love using my apple tv because it is so user friendly. I'm also an apple fanatic so that helps. The remote is the best part - it is a major upgrade from the earlier versions. Super easy to set up, just basically plug in and go. Especially easy if you have an iphone because you can open your phone and it sets it up for you.

After using several versions of Google's Chromecast, over the last 10 years, Apple TV is a pleasant surprise. OS is quick, and responsive. The included remote is high quality, no need to be worried about breaking this one. You are paying more for Apple TV, versus any Chromecast, but I'd argue it is well worth the additional $$$.

Upgraded to Apple TV as an old Roku (2018 model) could not connect to 5ghz wifi and the picture was pixilated using Spectrum app. Decided to go with Apple TV pixilated images are gone. I have also played with some apps that Roku does not have like Steam Link with a ps5 controller. Seemed to work well. My only complaint is the touch pad on the remote is very sensitive. Recommend moving it to slowest setting.

Recently I bought a Samsung Smart TV, and I found even with a new TV the interface and such was just so laggy and made me not enjoy watching TV. Although I am a huge Apple fan, I thought the idea of an Apple TV was quite stupid, but now with the addition of the Apple TV 4K, as well as 2 Apple Home Pod Mini’s, I have transformed my TV watching experience.

First impressions from a Roku and Fire TV user Remote control High quality material, but shape, size and sharp edges make it a lot less comfortable than Roku’s. The touch circle is too sensitive, but I expect to get used to it soon. Software, Navigation, Menus I find Roku’s menus more intuitive and easier to use right out of the box. I also expect to get used to Apple’s soon. Hardware I ordered this version by mistake expecting it to have an Ethernet port. It works well enough via WiFi once it’s streaming, but I still think that loading times would be faster with the Ethernet connection (in my 1 GB LAN). So, I have also ordered the version with the Ethernet port, but I have not received it yet. We shall see. The $20 price difference is small enough to prefer the upgraded version, given that it also has more memory (which may not make a difference for me) and other home-hub features (which I’d need to explore).

My internet speed literally cut in half after getting this ATV up and running. I went through all of the device settings and disabled so many unnecessary features that would normally be considered bandwidth intrusive. I reconfigured various display features to the lowest setting. No matter what changes were made to raise my download and upload speeds back up, nothing I did made any difference. This ATV continued to use large amounts of bandwidth even though the family was not even watching anything on it. On top of this, it forced me to manually login to this device every time I turned it on. Furthermore, it struggled to stay connected to the Amazon Fire TV even sitting right next to it. Overall, a very unexpected experience. My heart was set on this new change after watching so many others share their stories.

If you’re streaming from anything other than Apple TV, stop and get one right away. I’ve been streaming from my PS5 and I can tell you that I’ve been watching poor quality movies and even YouTube. I have 1gb internet speed, so that’s not the problem. Get the Apple TV!

Huge fan of this Apple TV, I had no idea it was so intuitive and I’ll say this that if you have already started using the Mac environment, whether for a computer laptop or iPhone, this is definitely a purchase you should consider. we use it in our dining room hooked up to a TV that we put a picture frame around and one of my favorite things is that the screensaver automatically can pull from your eye photos and will show a rolling slideshow of some of your favorite shots and always is a good talking piece during meals for our family as we reminisce about fun experiences, we’ve had . There are other products that offer similar services and are hundreds of dollars at least . Beyond that, Some of my favorite features include the ability to quickly tap the button on the side to use Siri to go to the next episode or quickly fast-forward or rewind things while watching also to quickly do a YouTube search or open an app. Also clutch because when watching YouTube, you can have Siri skip the commercials via voice, which is something that my Xbox doesn’t allow with Amazon Alexa integration. It also is great for mirroring iPhone or computer screens to quickly show someone something without having them to have to look directly at your phone screen. This comes in handy when casting meme and TikTok videos when you have friends over. Or when looking at hotel amenities when looking at vacation spots etc. The only downside I really have all considered is that the little Apple TV controller is very sensitive and if you spill anything on it, it may stop working very well. (Beware children) Also, very hard to find if not placed exactly where you know it needs to be so while having kids, this can be challenging, so I would also recommend purchasing one of these little glow-in-the-dark Sleeves so that you can try to keep your eye on it. Only downside of the controller is that it does not show you an indicator light when it’s charging which I find kind of silly. But those small inconveniences don’t even come close to bringing this down from a five star review. if you’re even considering this and already use the Mac environment, you absolutely will not regret it I promise.

It might be more expensive than other streaming devices, but nothing beats the Apple TV device. It keeps track of all your shows, and when the show ends and starts up later, the next year, it will show up as a reminder so you never lose track of your favorite shows and episodes.

I purchased to replace my old Apple TV that I put in my son’s room. I mostly use apple products so it was a no brainer to purchase this. I love how stream line all apple products are. Set up was a breeze and the new remote is so much better than the old one! Happy customer!
