Size: 245/45ZR17, ZR rated Y speed rated. Took the first drive on them, there was a horrendous drone noise over all speeds. Excessive harmonics at 50 – 55mph, and again at 70-75 mph; so loud it’s difficult to hear the radio. Tire needs redesign. Harsh ride due to thicker sidewalls and reinforce bead buildup (creating low tire compliance). Source of noise: Tread shoulder too wide, sipes and grooves on shoulder too wide and rounded, shoulder blocking grooves are normal to the direction of travel leading to tread blocks slapping the pavement. Resolve this noise by angling shoulder grooving between tread blocks. Overall Poor tire due to noise.

I purchased these on recommendation, after trying some other ultra high performance A/S tires. I found these to be stable in the corners with minimal roll in hard turns on both Dry and Wet roads. I was worried about the lack of Winter reviews but bought these anyway. I went to Stevens Pass Wa. to play in the snow, I found these tires to have very good predictability in the snow which ranged from 2" to 6" and fairly good predictability on bare ice. I had no problems driving in the wet, snowy and Icy conditions, these are all around good tires.

Was looking for an All Season tire and based on the descriptions this was the tire for the car. Bought 4 new tires, Pilot Sport A/S3, size 205/55R16 91V , 2 of which are DOT B9W11DX4515 and these are the ones I am rating Below Average. Still dealing with Tire Retailer in getting the Radial pull tire replaced.

I bought these tires for my daily driver (2008 Subaru WRX). They work great for my needs. The Pilot A/S 3's are a great mix; they handle like a sport tire, but are higly durable. I've used these tires in rain/snow and they provide great traction. I have not had any problems thus far and really like the tire. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a great all season tire.

I started using Michelin tires in the 1970's when the major retailer I worked for began selling Michielin tires in their auto centre. Since that time, I have been riding on Michelin tires, and have been completely satified with their wear, traction and handling features. Recently, I purchased a set of Michelin Latitude X-ice winter tires. They performed better than I ever expected, which gave me great confidence while driving in all winter conditions. Last month I purchased a set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 (XL). I chose these because I could not obtain a Michelin winter tire for my vehicle with 20" rims, and these are rated "all season". My only complaint is that I had to purchase the Pilots in Michigan, as there were no tires available in Ontario. My wife drives a Mini Van and she is riding on Michelin Defender tires. She has noticed a positive difference in the rain/snow handing of her vehicle with the new Michelin tires. In summation, if you have a choice, choose Michelin!

I had these on my 2008 Audi A4 for 38,000 miles. I'm happy with the mileage given how abusive I was with the tires. Road noise fine until the final 5000 miles. Grip was amazing and supplied far more then my A4 could extract. Braking was the same, just outstanding. I'm in the process of buying a new set this week.

I am pleased with the performance of the tires. They are about average, if I compare to Vredestein Q-trac all-season (lasted 35K miles) and to Finnish WR-G2 all-season (lasted 38K miles) tires. Both of the above had better traction, wet and dry. However, major disappointment is the tire wear. I replaced the front struts and other front suspension parts before purchasing Michelins. Plus, did 4-wheel alignment. I did rotate them every 4-8K miles. The tires were gone at about 19,000 miles. No performance, bad in wet weather, no traction, other issues. The tire dealership did not recommend the last rotation, b/c they did not want to put the bad set on the rear (to keep still decent set on the rare further). But the tires were flat and loud and done at 19K miles. I do 80/20 highway/town driving. The tires were used from OCT-MAY period (before the Summer season started). Thus, I am disappointed in tire wear mostly, considering 45K miles warranty. Do not buy and avoid for wear problem.

I replaced the factory installed tires with these Michelin tires and have been very pleased. I have a Mercedes E350 and handling and a quiet ride were qualities I wanted in a new tire. These tires exceeding my expectations. A smooth, quiet and great handling ride are all achieved. My wife's car is a Mercedes C300 Sport. When her tires were in need of replacing we went into a local tire store and was told by the salesman that another popular tire was the best tire for performance. We bought the tire and I can't tell you how disappointed we are with the tires. The handling is very good but the trade off in road noise isn't acceptable. I will buy the Michelin tires as soon as I can justify the replacement. The Michelin's cost is justified with the engineering that has gone into this product. These tires provide the driver the safety, performance, and a smooth/quiet ride that Michelin's reputation and marketing is built on. There is truth in Michelin's advertising that I would speak for.

I recently bought a set of pilot sport AS 3 and had them installed on my heavily modified eclipse turbo. They performed beyond my expectation, especially for an all season tire. The grip in extreme conditions is amazing, are very quite and resist hydroplaning very well. Who would have imagined your brakes work better with a tire selection, wow! You can drive with confidence and feel sure footed with these tires. An Ultrahigh performance tire with manners and a great warranty as a bonus.

An update on my initial review. I had the chance today to take my 135i with the A/S 3's for an extended drive today. I drove a combination of highway, city and rural roads. I can not believe this is the same car. The ride and handling of the car is better than ever and appears to have further improved after getting a few miles on the tires. As I stated earlier, the car is now quiet and all the rattles and creaks that drove me nuts are now gone. My only regret is that this tire was not available when I first purchased the car and that I put up with the run-flats for two years.
